I can understand the shock for giving the prize to an assassination, but as a journalist I think the effort it took for the photographer to remember his job in the middle of a very stressful and VERY dangerous situation alone merits the prize. It is not glorifying the killer in any way (and it wasn't an Islamist, it was a lone gunner who decided to takle matters in his own hands) and it conveys a powerful and shocking message. It is sadly a reflection of the world we live in, especially of the Middle East, where there is too much violence, much more than the people there or anywhere deserve. Again, I understand the controversy and the rejection, but it is such an accurate reflection of the work of a photojournalist that I don't see how it could not be awarded a prize.

As someone who lives overseas and already saw the movie --I love Halle Berry, but I didn't miss her one bit. Alexandra did a great job, although she didn't have all that much to do (and I REALLY have a problem with her last scene).

I come from a country where many movies either come delayed or don't come at all to cineplexes, so I see this with another perspective (though I am proud to say I saw ALL these films at the theater, except, of course , for 50 Shades).

I'd like to point out that these films weren't "stolen". It's a common mistake, I think, to say that "pirating" something digital is the same as stealing it. When you steal a car, it's gone from its physical location; you have removed someone else's property from their premises. When you download a movie illegally (and yes, I'm aware it's still illegal), the copy still remains, where anyone else can find it, including the purpoted owner.

I imagine these numbers allude to the entire globe, or at least I would hope so. Because I imagine that's where most pirating happens, like parts of Central and South America (where I live in), maybe Africa, parts of Europe... You know, where you can't always afford to go to the theater, or where movies like "The End of the Tour" or "John Wick" didn't even open. That being said, I always chose the theater first; why would I want to miss seeing the beauty of "Interstellar" or "Mad Max: Fury Road" on the big screen?

Piracy will not just go away, world. There has to be a better way to get movies to more people. Otherwise there will always be a pirate ship willing to give out free copies.

I thought it was big dumb fun! And I don't what most people did, but I threw my disbelief across the Universe and said, I need T-rex and Raptor to be a thing. Like a Saturday morning cartoon. Or the new Master Blaster. I thought it was AWESOME in its absurdity. Yes, they should all have feathers, but scientific accuracy aside, I had a blast with the movie.

My mother saw The Exorcist when she was seven months pregnant with my brother. She recounts with glee as people stared at her, jaw agape, horrified that a woman bearing child could watch this movie. A month before she read the book obsessively; my dad would walk in and she was sitting cross-legged on the bed with the book on her belly. Yes, my brother grew up a HUGE horror movie fan. And at 5'11" and 180 pounds of muscle, that's no small thing. (Oh, and he's a lawyer, thank you.) It makes me reflect, watching this footage, on how times have changed; nowadays I wonder if they'd even let her in the theater.

That script by Smigel is still making the rounds 'round the Webs, and might still be findable. I read it when "Green Lantern" was in theaters, and yeah, it would have been hilarious. Hope they still make it when all the superhero craze.. *snickers* Ahem. When all the superhero craze d*snorts* Excuse me. When ALL the superhero craze dies dOH WHO AM I KIDDING...

Those two were the only good thing about "Priest". And it baffles me
that someone like Paul Bettany can be told he won't ever work in
Hollywood, again, he such a fine actor. And yes, please, put Karl Urban in any Marvel movie, that guy has been shortstacked forever, he is awesome; just needs better jobs (love him as Bones, loved "Almost Human" and he was such a badass in "LOTR").

Right off the bat, I can say they made a crucial mistake in comic book movies: "Go darker, grittier". And dude, that new origin story... That being said, I have faith in Josh Trank (really liked "Chronicle"), and the cast is pretty solid. Like the way the Thing looks, from what little I saw. I'll watch it and duly heap it with praise or throw it on a heap of dung.

so what you're all saying is that it's not bad per se, it's just a sloppy remake. Hmm, seen it that way, I kinda see your point. I think it's a case where someone --Abrams, the screenwriters, the producers, the studio-- wanted to appeal both fans and no fans and just pissed off a whole lotta folks. Ok, I get it. Thanks to all for explaining.

(Still think "Darkness" is kinda cool. Sorry. XD)

Will somebdoy please explain to me what is wrong with "Into Darkness"? I saw it and thought it was pretty badass. Is it because I'm not a Trekkie? (Loved "The Next Generation", never saw the original.) Not looking to start a fight, I really don't get why people hate it so much.
