Most people see the headlines about oil, but they miss how this creates a 'vessel deficit' for every other industry. When 280+ bulk carriers are trapped inside the Gulf, that’s capacity that isn't moving grain or consumer goods elsewhere.

I’ve been tracking how this specific type of port congestion creates a 'whiplash effect'; even if the Strait reopened tomorrow, the backlog at destination ports would last for months. I recently put together a deep dive on how these specific congestion mechanics hit the domestic supply chain; it's a huge wake-up call for the 'Just-in-Time' crowd. Stay safe out there!

Re: 35 Sites Which Increase Your Domain's Trust

Wow... this is some GREAT stuff! It has me thinking a lot about the argument for video games as art. A lot of people argue there is nothing of artistic value there, but I have to disagree when I play a beautiful and thought provoking game... Even a "shooter" like Halo 3 had me riveted to the story and emotionally wrapped up in the events that took place with beautiful imagery compelling dialogue, and a masterful score. I actually listen to the halo score at work because it's so well done and the sounds take me back to critical moments in the games story... I see a blog post here. :)

Re: Automattic idiocy – Why WordPress suspended my blog

I left WP.com for .Org specifically because of this type of issue myself.
