If you're looking for mobility, some raw denim jeans have some stretch to them, though it's uncommon in men's versions. Cone Mills (which provides denim to many jeans brands) has a raw fabric with "S-Gene stretch technology" which is their raw-with-a-bit-of-stretch fabric. So perhaps looking for the brands/jeans that use this fabric is an option for roundhouse kicks. Another option would be to look for lighter weight denim in the 9 - 11 oz. range that has a relatively open weave, so there is more give in the fabric.

Former journalist, Lesley Smith, is kickstarting the publication of her first novel. She had to retire from journalism due to her worsening vision, but she wrote for outlets like The Guardian, Newtype Anime, Kotaku, Xbox Magazine, Joystiq, and others. Her novel is a science fiction story, the first of a trilogy, set on an alien world. She posts a lot of updates about her writing process, and this may be really interesting for readers or even writers who want a look into how she works.

I'm so excited about this. Ever since I saw the Japan version, I've hoped that it would come out in North America. I'm definitely going to get this bundle as well a hard copy of the game (which I already pre-ordered). Right now I have a hand-me-down regular 3DS, so I'm looking forward to having one of "my own."

Dale should have been killed off earlier. He was one of the most stupid, insufferable, patronizing, characters on the show. Good riddance.

We got more character background on T-Dog after he died than when he was alive, and he's been there since the beginning! How sad is that?

The only bit I disliked about the ending is that Peeta and Katniss ended up more or less happily ever after. Like you mentioned, it was rather out of character for her.

I liked that the ending was not perfect, that people who deserved to die, lived, and that people who deserved to live, died.

It's weird that the Mary Sue label is applied to Katniss by some people. I do not think she is a Mary Sue at all. Sure, she has mad archery skillz, but she suffers from the emotional and psychological effects of PTSD daily, she makes bad decisions, she's often shortsighted (as teenagers can be), she is indecisive, unsure of her feelings at times, she is often thoughtless, lacks compassion, whiny, self-centered, etc... She's definitely not perfect.

I think the first-person perspective was a bit limiting, and at least the first book suffered from it. The first book is similar to Battle Royale in that kids are put into an arena to fight to the last person. Battle Royale shifted perspectives amongst all the teens, showing the audience their motivations and thoughts, making each of them either more sympathetic, or at least we understood them a bit better. In The Hunger Games, we only see Katniss's perspective, and it's hard to see the other kids as three-dimensional people, with their own motivations and thoughts. Though I guess we're meant to identify with Katniss.

I'm both old and out of touch, but I knew that MIA and Nicki Minaj were going to be in that halftime show. On Friday morning, Madonna premiered her new single, and MIA and Nicki Minaj are both in it. Subscribers to Madonna's newsletter got the heads up about it the night previous (well, not specifics, but that there would be a new video going up on the Madonna YouTube channel).

Late to reply because I was out of town, but YES. Such a thing is needed now. Mainstream geekery conventions generally tolerate content that challenges sexism, but I rarely ever see POC issues covered in panels, nor POC amongst the guests of honour. Indeed, even GeekGirlCon didn't have any POC amongst its guests. I know they're working on being more inclusive of POC, given that the race and fandom panel (which I moderated) got the biggest room in their main exhibition area, but I don't see that a POC-centric convention as mutually exclusive to advocating for POC issues at other conventions as well.

Oh I realise you bought PDFExpert before ComicZeal. My question wasn't about ComicZeal. It was about buying comics and exporting them to different file formats.

Let me elaborate. Dark Horse publishes Lone Wolf and Cub, Uasagi Yojimbo, and Samurai Executioner. VIZ publishes Inuyasha and pretty much anything by Rumiko Takahashi (though I don't think Ranma 1/2 is available digitally yet). My question is regarding the export of your comic books and manga after purchasing them from the publishers' apps, in this case, Dark Horse for the first three and VIZ for Takahashi's stuff. See, I don't think ComicZeal allows you to purchase comics from the publishers--it's just a reader (please correct me if I am wrong). I'm curious about how you worked around the publisher DRM, if they have any, to export the comics you bought, into a PDF reader. I think that you point about device changing is a good one, and i want to explore exporting my purchased comics into PDF format to back them up.

Of course, I am making the assumption that you purchase your comics from the companies that publish them (which in turn supports the creators that draw and write them) rather than bypassing the creators and publishers and downloading them for free from torrent sites or sites where people upload their scanned comic books for people to download for free.

I have an iPad 2 and I use this as an e reader for both regular books and comic books and manga.

I'm curious about the choice to read comics and manga using a PDF reader rather than native apps that the publishers maintain like the VIZ Manga app for manga and DC Comics or Comixology for Western comics. After you purchase your comics through the app store, do you then somehow export them to read on the PDF app? Why the extra step to read using a different after purchasing the comic in its native app?
