I'm in DC now). Ok....so I just watched a video of the cops trying to arrest the son and he refuses. They are following him and asking him to drop the knife and surrender. He refuses. He walks away and they are still asking him to stop. He refuses. They warn him that if he doesn't they will send the dog to stop him from getting away. He says to them that he will kill the dog if they do, and proceeds to jump a fence to get away. They send the dog......and we know the rest. What specifically should have been done differently? (Be clear....I do not think he deserved to die. I'm just trying to get an understanding of what they could have done differently).

Re: Five Things People Need To Stop Saying When Police Dogs Are Killed

Hey there!!!! :-) I've been good. Trying to grow a business...traveling....etc. How have you been? Miss you guys!

As to your point....I totally agree that it is puzzling that, even with five cops, it resulted in a man losing his life. Maybe they could have done something different. Maybe they tried to de escalate to no avail. We will never really know. However, I reach a crossroad when it comes to dealing with someone who is threatening with a deadly weapon. Dealing with two drunk men?......Let's dance.....Add a deadly weapon?.....Rules change.

Re: Five Things People Need To Stop Saying When Police Dogs Are Killed

Hmmm..........interesting comments. Men are breaking the law....refuse to be arrested.....physically fighting with the police....one grabs a weapon and lunges towards the cops......and the cops did not perform satisfactory? I understand that the racial climate between our people and police is extremely sensitive and that we need justice, but we cannot become so blind that we absolve people who are breaking the law and threatening with a deadly weapon of any responsibility whatsoever. Him killing the dog sends the message that he is willing to kill. And speaking as a granddaughter, sister, niece and cousin to police officers, I've heard many stories like this and it seems like they followed protocol. So, while I mourn that someone has lost their life to a police shooting, I don't think the solution is as easy what many of you are stating. And....to compare this situation to Eric Garner is disrespectful in my opinion. Not the same thing. Do I ignore the cat calls? Do I gently respond? In the majority of cases, I was cursed out/disrespected regardless of which route I took. Fellas, a lot of us are scared.....even if we don't show it.

Re: Ask Agatha: Adult Virgins And The Single Worst Zodiac Sign To Date

The story of my LIFE....Ugh!
