I SH*T you not. The exact moment that I posted my comment, my phone continued with booting and is now on the rainbow G with the progress bar, beneath it.

Sideloaded it on my Pixel 3XL and it said successful, but on reboot system, it is stuck on the rainbow Google splash.

The worst of all (for me at least) is that there is still no support in Google Messages for their very own Google Voice!

Like, can't they add support for their own service before trying to get RCS?

I used to think going full Google Voice was a great idea. It's the only number I share/use, but support for it seems to be wantin within Google itself.

Yup, I was having issues not receiving work emails in VMware's Boxer app, and noticed the little + in my battery icon. Checked settings to find the crazy 99% enable set.

Fairly certain there's a typo in your 4th paragraph:
"the booster relit its engine and flew autonomously to a horizontal landing"

That can't be right. The booster makes a *vertical* landing. NASA's Space Shuttle made horizontal landings. ;)

Thanks. There's still no link to download the latest version. The link takes you to the Play Store page for the app and no update shows available there.

What's driving me nuts is that they still have a link at the bottom of their homepage to download the apk directly from their servers, but they still only give you the month old v6.60.

This article stated that truecaller released a fix on March 22nd, but Play Store shows it was last updated in February. The current Play Store version is 6.60 and if you download the app directly from truecaller.com, you also get version 6.60.

If anyone has the patched version mentioned in this article, please reply with the version number.

If the author of this article sees this, please provide the patched version number. That's really useful information.

Thanks! I already completely wiped and fresh flashed my ROM and GAPPS (with the previous play services) and this time Google has left the version alone. I'll try this if I ever get messed up again.

There is no uninstall option for apps installed in /system/priv-app. Are you on a stock ROM? I ended up back on the 7.5.62 after rebooting from reflashing. Google ninja'd me with it. FCs were still happening, so I went to app info, clicked `Manage Space`, and cleared all data from it. That got me back to stability. Thanks for responding.

I replied the same to @Valentin, but I'm also very curious as to how you were able to install a previous version. Simply opening the APK for the previous 7.3.29 release fails the install. Are you doing something different? I had to wipe /system and reflash my ROM and GAPPS in order to get back.

I keep getting force closes on this version! Unfortunately Google Play Services has stopped. More unfortunate is the fact that you cannot install a previous version over it.

Same issue on my Nexus 6 running 5.1 (Chroma ROM). Tried clearing data and cache. Nonstop force close. Reboots did nothing either. Had to use the "Uninstall updates" button in App info to revert back.

For those Google Voice users (like me) who are curious if this new Messaging app supports Google Voice as your number for sending/receiving SMS/MMS messages, allow me to confirm for you that this new app does not support this at all.

So, to be clear, you can NOT use this new Messaging app to send/receive messages over your Google Voice Account/Number.
