With Summize Twitter is now a gold mine for Web Data Mining and Web Monitoring.

Ford could ask Twitter, how their products do. If the people like their new car or not. Ford could pay Twitter to monitor all their products and get alarmed, if the twitter crowd of early adopters talks bad about a particular auto.

Twitter could hyper target advertising. If u say: I like XYZ, they show you ads for this product. BUT if you say - I hate XYZ the won't bother you with their ad.

Der Kauf von Summize ist extrem genial!

Twitter kombiniert mit der sogenannten "Sentiment Analysis" Technologie von Summize verwandelt Twitter in eine Goldmine für Web Data Mining und Web Monitoring.

Großkonzerne können jetzt Twitter dafür bezahlen, dass sie Auswertungen bekommen, wie die Konsumenten ihre Produkte finden. Was sie positives oder negatives darüber schreiben (Web Monitoring).

Oder Twitter schaltet bald gezielt Anzeigen im Umfeld von Twitter Nachrichten, bei denen Produkte positiv erwähnt werden. Wenn jmd. negativ über ein Unternehmen schreibt, taucht die Anzeige natürlich nicht auf.

This aquisition makes perfect sense.

Twitter combined with the sentiment analysis technology of Summize is turning Twitter into a gold mine for Web Data Mining and Web Monitoring for global corporations.

Or Twitter could hyper target their ads to Twitter Messages with positive feelings about products, leaving out negative sentiments related to companies and their goods.

Your deal makes much so sense. I saw the sentiment analysis technology of Summize in action, before you started the search engine for Twitter. I wanted to present the product search engine of Summize to a big company in Germany, but the day before the presentation the Summize Labs went offline.

1. TMO will be a popular business (like SEO, SEM), TMO = Twitter Marketing Optimization

2. Teens/students who use ICQ, MSN Messenger and AIM still won't join the twitter community, because they really see no value at all in it.

3. Only people and companies who already have a blog / a press office will join twitter.

4. Twitter will replace the RSS feed, that never became popular in the mainstream.

The best description for the future of twitter comes from the twitter team itself. I edited the Wikipedia yesterday with this quote from Evan Williams, CEO of Twitter, at the Web 2.0 Summit 2009:

"What we have to do is deliver to people the best and freshest most relevant information possible. We think of Twitter as it's not a social network, but it's an information network. It tells people what they care about as it is happening in the world."

You have to compare this to the strategy of Google:

"Google's mission is to organize the world's information and make it universally accessible and useful."

I never envisioned twitter as a hub for the "Internet of Things", as the central part of a hyperlinked network of objects like people, sensors and real-world objects which will have an individual digital presence informing you about their status and location. But this would be a perfect future scenario for Twitter being 'the global information network'.

I have tested so many Twitter ranking tools like Twitter Grader, Twinfluence, TwitterAnalyzer, Twitterholic, Twitalyzer, TweetLevel.

Klout is clearly the best of all ranking tools! Period.
