Never like this - broadcast live, with open, unfiltered questions from all press there and unfiltered answers from the FP. This is a different approach than past press conferences. And we haven't seen the First Presidency address a live audience in at least a decade. This is a very new era, with a mostly healthy First Presidency. You'll see a lot of changes in communication as a result.

I understand your situation and have compassion. At the same time I really think it was the obsession and constant bombardment of "don't look at porn" and being scared to talk about it that led to anything that could have been an addiction. I still argue it's more an obsession than an addiction, although the obsession itself becomes something one becomes addicted to. If one can get rid of the obsession, the addiction usually goes away.

I agree there are some cases true addictions exist, but I still think that's very rare. Only a licensed psychologist can really diagnose that. A Bishop definitely can't.

This sounds like Cain's response, "Am I my brother's keeper?" It's a Pharasaic response. The fact is people are saying they're hurt. Have you forgotten about the 1 and just stuck with the 99? Because it sounds like that's what you're doing. You seem to not care with responses like this. Instead you have to defend at all costs.

Not at all! Women bow their heads and covenant to obey their husbands. Then, when they get their endowments, their husband has to go through first, and take her through. He gets to know her new name but she doesn't get to know his. Women have to veil their faces. There isn't even a Heavenly Mother in the whole ceremony. That's just the beginning. That seems pretty extreme to me!

And I think it's wrong to respond to critique when you haven't watched the videos yourself. What critique are you referring to exactly? Might include that in your article, or are you just trying to distract from the real issues? That too is wrong. Or are you just working with Public Affairs to tone down the issue? (I know they do that some times too - the fact that you've been in that room shows you yourself have done that before)

Did you even watch the video response I shared above? That will at least be a start for you. And the guy's not even, nor has ever been, a member.
