We love to judge based on personal opinion while ignoring (or at least resisting) imperial data: push notifications, website popups, and email drip marketing. But they ALL work. One of the most difficult sales I have to new clients is making use of what works because, as Josh Todd stated, they see these methods as intrusive or "spammy". What are radio or television spots? They work too!

Agreed. At 1k death comes silently for 3 seconds. They'd hear the first target destructing and the next one would be dead before the 3rd heard the first report.

I recently had a "WordPress Designer" contact me to look at why his customer's page was loading so slowly especially on iPhones. He was using Slider Revolution and, no joke, 12 images in excess of 4 megs each all pre-loading. Yeah, I charged him regular rate to take load time from 13 seconds to 3. (I never did tell him how I did it!)

It works. Data says so. It's one of the harder sales because clients think everything is "spam". Uhm, no. I'm sure the way Mike does it it's not even close. BUT not just any email content converts - and I'm also sure Mike's does. Hire him.

Aaron if everyone who had so many followers also brought value then I would support the massive Twitter followers model. Unfortunately the "I've got X hundred thousand followers" model is generally more about personal boasting than bringing value to the community. Kudos to you, warning to others. Numbers of followers is not a metric of trust or influence, perhaps not even reach.

It's really too bad to see ManageFlitter loosing the group unfollow function and I think Twitter should reconsider. What a great tool for trimming dead or inactive accounts.

On that note, did you stay with Cotweet/SocialEngage as they became ExactTarget?
