I do agree that bacon should be it's own experience. When we do breakfast, I can now make sure i get my bacon. Although I like it opposite: think, crispy and no sweet on it whatsoever. I consider turkey bacon just strips of lunch meat and I can have more strips of it when I make a quick meal or put it in my bowl of quinoa stuff. Truth be told, I never keep actual bacon in the house. Maybe I'll start buying it.

funny story about that girl. Turns out, my parents know her parents. She's actually super shy and sheltered. I think her parents were mad strict. The other SFCAGs blatantly stare me down. I don't know why.

Great article, Ryan, I really enjoyed it and I'm so glad someone is addressing this jeans issue.
I generally do not like the look of a skinny jean on men (and DEF not on women) unless you are a Ramone. The fashion trends right now can be summed up in the phrase "most unflattering cuts ever" and I'm biding my time and holding my tongue until style comes back.
I like a cut of jean that fits one's body type. Some people look better with a bootcut to balance out a wide hip. Some people have straighter body types and can rock a straight leg slim cut. For men, a slimmer fit is nice, I appreciate a guy who likes his clothes to fit correctly.
As far as the skinny guy preference goes, I don't really have a preference for build, but no, I can't get with the skin and bones build.

Twitter has been a great tool in getting your feet wet in a new city. I have many friends who have moved to New Orleans, and expressly used twitter to meet new people with great success (success being that they are now friends with me :) )

Welcome home :)
There's so many things that I relate to in this post. I too, had designs on finally having "The Good Year" which turned into a series of "failing upwards" experiences and experiments. I learned a lot, came out of my shell, (I actually told Jess the first time I met her in person that she'd never see me again b/c I'm so introverted) and even though there are some major things that didn't pan out, I believe in the promise of the coming year and beyond.
I know I've said it before: if you need anything, just let me know, I'll do what I can to help make this city stick.
