That is absolutely ridiculous. With historical low interest rates, available financing with downpayment assistance, and average sale prices way below the 2007 peak, there is no reason to rent. The only reason homebuyers would have difficulties in todays real estate market would be job stability and a bad credit score. Survey's and poll's don't hold water in my opinion, but I do think you're all wet. :-)

I'm guessing most of those driver's and people renting out their homes are real estate agents who aren't cutting it as REALTORS. ;-)

The fear of the unknown has been around for ages. FSBO's have been around for ages, just like most real estate agents (No pun intended) It's an exciting time to see our industry evolve into what will become more professional forced by disruption. Good read Rob. It takes a special kind of person to make it in this business regardless of their age. The ideal candidate has always been the mature motivated individual with no $$ signs in their eyes. That could be 21 or 65. The interview process and hiring standards could solve many issues in our industry. As always: Thank you for contributing your thoughts to our industry Rob.

Can't believe they didn't allow the card to be completed on a form and signature. Sometimes technology sets us back. Maybe a backup system will be put in place for the future. If I had to leave a cart full of groceries because of this, I would want more than a measly $10.00 coupon.

If the agent does a good job upfront pricing the house, there will not be a problem. The problems come when the agent list the house at what the seller wants vs. what the comps tell us. Don't take overpriced turkeys, you might get fewer, but they'll all close.

I think the franchisors should stick to selling franchises and providing brokerages with good service rather than try to reinvent our businesses. Too many brokerages are already in the dark themselves Alex. ;-)
