I'm hitting an error on running the project locally. I get this:

GET http://localhost:3000/Templates/http://localhost:3000/lantern.js 404 (Not Found)

I haven't altered your code (just git cloned, ran the jspm init, and retrieved the aurelia components), so I'm not sure where the problem is. I imagine it's something to do with the ConventionalViewStrategy.convertModuleIdToViewUrl block.

Can you verify you're not getting this error if you clone your project as is?

Re: Axiom Verge

Very sorry to hear this. Chloe's thoughts on life's balance seem right on the mark. While the loss of your friend is inconsolable, know that your wife and child will reap the benefits of your hard work on a project that received such immense passion and dedication. Congratulations and consolations to you, Tom. I've yet to see it - I should...

I just watched a fun New Zealand mockumentary recently called "What We Do in the Shadows" that has a great twist on werewolves (and vampires) living in modern-day New Zealand. Consoles became better, faster, prettier, and more sophisticated than arcades could ever hope to. As a result, they added plastic guns, steering wheels, entire gyroscopic ride mechanisms - all with the hope that you'd patronize their establishments more often. But the public has already decided that playing games at home is an infinitely better experience than playing games in an arcade.

The parallels are clear; moviegoers find the Blu-ray, HD presentations in their home theaters more pleasant, less costly, and more personalized. Theaters are at their limits on ticket prices, so they've begun to resort to the gimmicks to make you walk through their doors. 3D. Fake IMAX. And now, 48fps.

At some point, even if 48fps were successful in theaters, the tech will become as ubiquitous in the home (as 3D is becoming) that the theater will run out of parlor tricks to convince you it's worth your dollar.

There will always be amazing cinemas just as there will always be fantastic arcades, but both will become marginalized to only their zealous patrons who yearn for the heydays of their respective entertainment venues.

Re: Reject Radio #121: Flickchart and the Mathematics of a Best Movie

Thanks! Boxee can play anything - I've never had a file format it couldn't play back. The interface is also very family friendly, which goes a long way too as I don't have to be the one to navigate to content if others in the house want to watch something specific. The social features are very nice - underhyped I think as no other device does anything similar.

Re: "Liberté, Égalité, Fraternité": The Last Movie You Will Ever See

The cop-out answer:

an unedited, raw footage continuous screening of any and all home video/film footage of my family.

The hypothetical answer:
since I'll die once the film has ended, logic dictates choosing the longest film ever made: Modern Times Forever
http://en.wikipedia.org/wik...

The answer expected:
my #1 film, The Empire Strikes Back

Re: Hold Your Applause: The Case For and Against Clapping in a Cinema

I believe it's all about the constitution of the audience. At a packed, standing-room-only screening of a blockbuster, or a hilarious comedy, or a midnight showing of a cult classic, applause is welcome and usually expected. They're usually paired with hoots and hollars. It's all part of just making some sort of audible indication that you're excited or enjoy the moment.

Seeing a drama at a matinee with 11 other people in the theater seldom produces the same environment to where applause is appropriate.

Honestly, I've seen more people applaud trailers or commercials before the movie than during the movie itself.

Re: Unfiltered: Best of the Beasts

For what it's worth, The Two Towers Extended Edition is 223 minutes, Fellowship's is 208 minutes, and Return of the King's is 250 minutes.
