Okay! I got my first bill and I did some calculation and came up with this figures. Call charges within the network including taxes is 2.30, and to other networks 3.50. The best thing is, its a flat rate, anytime of the day.

@True Sri Lankan, I do agree with you that Airtel's primary motive might be to use Sri Lanka as a "test bed", b'cos it would be cost effective for them to experiment new technologies and not b'cos of anything else, like you mention. But God know best!

However I don't agree at all with your point one and two. As far as I know, Bharti Airtel Lanka is using Huawei Techmnologies' equipments, the same manufacturer who supplies for Mobitel, and other fixed and mobile telephone operators in Sri Lanka.

Of course Huawei is a Chinese company, and like you pointed out, if performance of Chinese equipment is to 'degrade' in less than a year, well, we all should be suffering by now, ain't we? ;)

By the way, I like to mention since you have challenge Airtel to give counter arguments, that I am not in what so ever affiliated to Airtel.

I agree, products which are not strictly to the set standards are hazardous. And I believe its our local regulators responsibility to ban such item from coming into the country.

Did you download the correct version? You should download the Nokia S60 (3rd Edition). Pls. give me full details, I mean what exactly is the problem, your N96 firmware version etc., Then I may be able to help you.
