Oh Jeff, I am so very very sorry to hear about these losses. I can not even imagine what you are going through. I took a course called http://www.griefshare.org/ It helped me immensly to know that what I was going through was "normal." I am sending you and your family blessings and prayers. Thank YOU Andy for sharing your story with me. How ironic your brother was Chris too. Like Stephen said, suicide stuns us into silence. Although there is no one way to react and certainly no playbook on how to grieve, I do know silence for too long is dangerous. Tell your story, talk about Chris, keep his memory alive and use this experience to help other grow in their understanding of depression. You are braver than you know my friend!

I am so sorry I am not seeing this comment until now. T It has been over a year, and I still feel like there are days on autopilot. Silence is often golden but not when it comes to this subject. Silence can easily become a prison for the victims and the families. hank you so much for sharing your story.

Beautifully said! My only wonder is why you/we feel the need to see or set these critical accomplishments and goals "aside" as teachers, administrators and most importantly students. If schools is not for this; then what is it for? (I am speaking globally and pondering the same question myself.)
