Anyone can view a Ustream with just about no setup on their computer whatsoever. This is what works today. People don't want to jump through hoops to hear your message, they just want it instantly when they want it. The same goes true with WebConferencing and VideoConferencing.

My company's service at Great America Networks Conferencing in these areas is successful because there is no pre-configuration for anyone to join your meeting. Send them the link, and they click and join no matter what kind of computer they are on or connection. This has allowed my company's QuickVisuals service to become adopted by more and more company's that just want to get here message out there to work.

Anthony Russo
Conferencing Consultant
Great America Networks Conferencing
arusso@ganconference.com
www.ganconference.com
http://blog.ganconference.com/
Skype: anth.russo
Twitter: @AnthonyRusso

Re: The Scariest Part of Halloween: The Grown-Ups!

I agree that is a valid concern at least. A bit of planning by the staff can provide a way around such an issue though. My wife used to do Home Daycare and "dress-up" was a favorite game of the kids. She would be able to find tons of stuff ("funny" hats, coats, "princess" dresses and such) at garage sales and the like to make sure there was planty to go around. A good washing first was all that was needed.

Depending on the size of the school, it would allow for some fun for all with the ones that don't have their own costumes 'borrowing' from the schools supply.

Anthony

Re: The Scariest Part of Halloween: The Grown-Ups!

I decorate my house and give out the sweets every year to the parade of superheroes, fantasy characters, and ghouls and goblins that come to my door. Some years me and my wife will even dress up creepy with makeup and a costume to add to the effect.

Halloween is honestly a holiday that is more for kids than most any other. There is nobody teaching you lessons about things that happened hundred or thousands of years ago (ThanksGiving, Christmas, Easter, etc.). There is no pushing of 9 different holidays for every faith falling at the same time so you have to watch out for which one you say Happy Whatever to. There is no stress about gifts and whether you will or wont get something you want. It's just about fun.

Anthony Russo
anthony.russo10@gmail.com
http://www.anthonyrussoblog.com/Anthony
Skype: anth.russo
Twitter: @AnthonyRusso

Re: Turn Your Cell Phone Into a Tool of Awesome

You would probably greatly enjoy 40Tech in addition to this blog. http://www.40tech.com/ I highly recommend it as am closing in on that stage of life rather quickly.

Anthony

Re: Turn Your Cell Phone Into a Tool of Awesome

As I mentioned before on here, I love Dial2Do and use it often with a slew of other services.

Another thing people should be aware about from Google is GOOG-411. If you call 411 on your cell phone you most likely will get charged over $1.00+ for the call. If you call 1-800-GOOG-411 (1-800-466-4411)it will be Free and great voice interface. Recently went through it with my 5-year old granddaughter who experienced losing teeth the hard way. Fell on a slide and knocked out her tooth. Blood, scream, cries and a hospital trip all about a month n the past now, she is doing fine, as are her parents.

A very fun experience was explaining the tooth fairy process to her and magic that she possessed. You can truly feel the magic in the eyes of your child hearing it for the first time, and the next morning when she runs to you excited with the dollar she finds under her pillow.

Anthony Russo
anthony.russo10@gmail.com
http://www.anthonyrussoblog.com/Anthony
Skype: anth.russo
Twitter: @AnthonyRusso

Re: First Day of Kindergarten. It is a great outlook that if you haven't read I hope you do.

I thought about it and have a family member in the situation that would benefit from reading it so I made a blog post on my blog inspired by yours. I have been a RTM user along with GCal user for a while, but notice that RTM seems redundant as of late and have dropped it from my routine. I just put things into GCal which is as accessible as RTM in my opinion and does all the same features, unless I'm missing something?

On another note, I highly recommend Dial2Do at www.dialtodo.com as it makes the effort of inputting things so simple. Quick phone call and it updates whatever service I need, whether it is RTM, Gcal, Twitter, Evernote or even to read things back to me, (though I rarely do that). I think it might help if you don't use it, or Jott yet.

One more thing. Does your wireless provider have an unlimited Data plan? I never really find myself being "disconnected" as long as I have my HTC Touch Pro. I can browse any site and with the Google tools, plus Evernote, am always connected. What situation leaves you unconnected where your phone isn't enough?

Anthony

Anthony Russo
Conferencing Consultant
Great America Networks Conferencing
arusso@ganconference.com
www.ganconference.com
http://blog.ganconference.com/
Skype: anth.russo
Twitter: @AnthonyRusso

Re: The importance of securing a Facebook Username

Good point.
