Finally, A article from a reputable blog paying attention to "The Longhorn Concept" Incident. Apple took out everything it could from it and later even had the cynicism of saying that Microsoft had copied them!!!.

Even Project Pheedo, that even if we agree was not a 100% microsoft thing is now ingrained in people minds as Coverflow that Apple made part of everything as we have seen.

The problem is that only 1 in a 1000 actually knows that from fact and not hearsay.

Uff, I actually remember someone telling me about you from a friend who was at C.U back in early 1996 i think. Didn't paid not much mind until i read about you again in late 1999 almost by accident. From then on i decided to keep a eye on what you did.

It has been interesting.

I liked every single one of the Multi-touch mouse conventions. I Think that for everyday use the first 2 are the best ones. The third ones need to be further prototyped but it could be used for cases were you need some serious precision and control like 3D modeling. Fourth one makes for a great gaming mouse as it was obviously intended. Fourth is the trickiest ones as it comes by as tiring to have to use your hand that was for long period of times but would may be the most dependable for rough use.

Pues lo seria. Los posts de Miguel son unos rollazos. Aunque tambien pense yo mismo traducir su blog. La verdad pienso que no tendria mas que un ciento de lectores. El esfuerzo no parece valer la pena.

Habria que hacer una encuesta al respecto en varios Blogs en espanol (teclado gringo) para saber si hay suficiente demanda.

I'm from the Netherlands. Before reading about Miguel I didn't know any software developers from Mexico. Then I started reading Miguel himself: he does interesting things, has interesting opinions, and writes in a language I can easily read. He is, effectively, the only Mexican voice in software development for me, and for innumerably many people in IT. All this because he writes in English. Think of this before you call it "treason".

La verdad es que Miki es un traidor a Mexico y su Mexicanidad Chilanga desde que se fue a vivir a Boston. Debido a eso, Le hemos prohibido exponerse como tal. Tememos por la inclusion de nuestro bello lenguaje en sus truculentas conspiraciones mientras desarrolla software en el gabacho.

I stand corrected. However maybe Opera 10 will probably will if they follow what they did in Windows where they at least reworked how they interact with browser plugins installed in the machine. So maybe it will indeed work well after all.

Chrome plugin is a some sort of point in between Firefox XPI's and Firefox Jetpack..that is why i guess that it should be the easiest to support post Firefox for Moonlight.

We want moonlight working on as many free OS supported browsers as possible. We had moonlight working on opera way back during 1.0 development. There were a number of problems with Opera across the board with regards to their NPAPI implementation. Not *entirely* their fault, given the lack of real specification for the api, but their hands aren't exactly clean either :)

If browsers support NPAPI, much of the functionality should work just fine. I don't know anything about chrome's implementation (or lack thereof).

tried it out. it is quite better than the last preview but it must be half as fast and twice as heavy than Silverlight 3. At least that is how it feels. I guess you are about to begin optimizing it.

Just as a educated guess: Not very soon since it is not as easy to do or there is as much incentive for them to do so. But you can bet on support for Chrome/Iron 3-4 sooner than later as it gets extension and these get mature. I read somewhere that even in Linux Iron/Chrome was already as used as Opera. Surprising considering it is not even finished.

i guess he forgot to add EnableFrameSetCounter and a display for it....but yeah it should be on the sample. i can only guess that i am getting like 50fps when seeing the sample in IE8.

I suspected that Miguel had pre-written and the release of Moonlight Beta 1 was also pre-programmed since he now on vacations.
