I've been using 1password for a couple of years, I find it invaluable, I never have to remember more than a single password. Plus it has an iPhone app so you passwords are portable. Also has secure notes so you can record things like bank account numbers.

I use paypal all the time, I agree that their brand has tarnished edges that they don't seem to be trying to fix. I'm in the middle of building an ecommerce site and was leaning away from paypal, but changed my thoughts to allow a choice when checking out, paypal, google, amazon. It will be interesting over time to see what people prefer.

I think your slide 14 and 15 are pretty close to reality, typical traditional being maybe 2-7% of the entire buy (I could never quite understand this). The earned, I would think that the media buy would still be higher, just not in the whacked proportion of the traditional.

I also think that Earned Media platforms like slideshare and Empressr (oh btw, Empressr does video/audio embedded in slides) are great places to run earned media campaigns

yeah but MS won by pushing out the competitor because they owned the "hardware" world ie being pre-installed. This is different, neither product/service is pre installed, you have to choose and you will migrate towards the platform that your friends are on, no?

Another thought, when I went to college, while it was expensive it's nothing like today and what those fees will be in 3 more years. School is going to cost between, $100k and $250k a better way to spend that money would be ditching school and starting your own gig... What an entrepreneur could do with $250k of seed money! I spent 4 years in High School without feeling I learned anything substantial, I then followed the crowd and went off to a SUNY school only to feel like it was just an extension of High school, I quit and got a job for a year. That year taught me more than the previous 5 years of school, I knew then, that I had to move to NYC and I wanted to be involved the the design world. I dedicated all my efforts for the next 2 years into learning everything I could, working night jobs to afford the School of Visual Arts, One year after graduation I started my own company and have had an awesome 20 years creating great work for some fantastic clients, while working with some of the greatest creative and technical folks I have ever met .

I used college in NYC as a leverage to get me back into this city I love and to learn about a business I knew very little about. I knew I would never work for someone else and while I don't believe college is needed or is important for an entrepreneur it did help me to focus myself. (I could of done the same working for someone, but in the design biz 20 years ago, you needed a kick ass portfolio to get work) So I think you have to look at what you want to get out of the time you put into college vs other options.

Having a daughter in High School, I'm very mixed on whether I want her to go to college or not, I'm leaving that decision for a later time...

Hi Brian. At this point, the first marker of success of reflationary policy would be to simply stabilize prices. I think the two main assets classes important to OECD countries are housing and equities. So the first test is to get those two stabilized.

I think food inflation will continue to moderate now. As for oil, well, 42 dollars a bbl is very dangerous to world oil supply.

Wow, well spoken, I have always thought that inflation wasn't the problem, but you clarified that. I for one am willing to pay higher prices for goods and services, so long as I feel it is justified. Nice Work

As an entrepreneur that has run a successful business that has been able to withstand 3 recessions, I have been working with this sentiment in mind for the last 20 years. All business should be run with the idea not to waste for waste sense. get out innovate, innovation is not that expensive, spend as if you are building a company that will survive and create jobs and create growth.

Like all things in life if you look at your feet, you will either fall down or run into a wall. Look straight ahead and you will see where you are going. Cheer up and start talking about all the good things that are going on. I'm not saying ignore the markets, but don't focus on the negative.

Citibanks not bad, they just recently refreshed the interface. Bill pay is good and the reporting ok. One pet peve is that you have to wait a day to retrieve statements older that 3 months. My Merrill Lynch account is instant, but the bill pay kinda sucks, and the rest of the interface to the banking is like so 1999

I've never been able to make any forward progress on Amazon, love the product, bought it, got killed disliked it, shorted it, got killed. Kindel is too big, it's all about the pocket, a phone that fits, a camera that fits, a reader that fits. If they make a smaller one, I might be tempted to buy long again. Still think it's a great company never-minding what side I buy.

Thank sucks! I remember hearing that the new iPhone will have a remote wipe feature, but until then I use a password lock on my phone just for situations like you just experienced.
