I've had Gary Zukav's "feel your feelings" and Eckhart Tolle's "be in the now" batting it out in my head for three weeks now and I am no more confused, emotional than I was.

Diane, all I can say right now is let the tears flow when they are there and count your blessings when you feel them. Life is messy and uncomfortable at times.

Re: It’s really not that bad, or is it?

Shan, I love how the book taught you a lesson even without reading it!

Re: The “‘Yes, I Can’ Column of My Life” – An Interview with Glenda Watson Hyatt

Harriet, thank you for this opportunity to share a bit of my life with your readers. Many of them don't see the potential - the kind that is beyond your wildest imagination - and that is far more limiting than our disabilities.

This weekend I was at a business conference (and that comes no where close to describing the event, which is more of a community than a conference) and everyone I talked to was so supportive, encouraging about helpful towards my desire to become a public speaker despite my significant speech impairment. And, it wasn't patronizing support either. I keep thinking of my high school guidance counsellor; there's no way he would have advised me in this career direction. But,that is the way I am going!

My advice to parents of kids with disabilities is to surround them with positive, supportive, creative people, including peer role models, and watch their kids grow and flourish beyond what the experts say was possible.

Re: How Noah Kagan (From AppSumo) Built A List Of Over 600,000 Followers (After Getting “Fired” From Facebook)

Great interview, Clay. Very meaty. I do, however, take issue with Noah's comment that tying speed is linked to intelligence. I type with only my left thumb due to my physical disability. Because of my slow typing speed, I have found other ways to increase productivity to compensate. By using typing speed as a hiring criterion, AppSumo would miss out on my other knowledge and expertise that might benefit the company. Be careful that the metrics used are actually measuring what you think they are.

Re: Conscious Mindfulness

Pam, I like that story. Yes, my book is enrolled in KDP Select and made a whopping $1.70 last month...it is a start !

I was all set to try a free day or two this weekend, thinking people would be open to curling up with their Kindle on a cold, wintry day. But then I froze. I wasn't sure how using a free day worked as promotion. Does Amazon do something on their end to promote it?

Re: 13 Steps to Creating Your First Kindle Ebook

Denise, makes perfect sense! Thanks to the two webinars with you and Daniel, my autobiography I'll Do It Myself is now available on the Kindle - http://amzn.to/sfLHBm.

A presentation from last year has been written up and is with an editing friend. I hope to launch it within a few weeks. A few other ebooks from existing content are also in the works.

The piece that is lacking is the marketing strategy.

Re: On Shopping Carts, Thanksgiving, and Homelessness

A beautiful, heartbreaking post!
