Marriage has everything to do with procreation.The reason our community is failing is because of the devaluing of marriage as a stable in holding the community together.Less marriage means more chaos in the community.

Jack Turner, I read this post, and found it greatly annoying!

First, in the quote you posted....Zirin makes no real "political analysis"...he merely comments on Democratic turnout, versus Republican turnout, pointing out the fact that Democratic turnout was lower than 2008. He goes on to suggest that Democrats are demoralized by Obama not "bringing home the goods". What is faulty about that?

I'm not fond of sports, nor am I in any mood to defend sportscasters...but what does his profession have to do with his ability to comment on the performance of his President?

Nowhere in his huffpo piece does he use the word "failure" in the context that you suggest...which is that Obama is a failure because he hasn't done everything he set out to do.

I love technical math!.. it's the most 'practical' and 'funnest' kind of math. And yes, so-called blue collar jobs require quite a lot of math, understanding blueprints, tolerances and measurement accuracy. Also, today's carpentry and tool making is done by million dollar numerical control machines that require a knowledge of geometry, and programming...It is not mindless, by any stretch.

I just had my HINI vaccine at a flu clinic in Toronto. It took about 40 minutes, including a 15 minute "observation" wait afterward. It was brisk, efficient, and I didn't feel a damned thing... I asked that man if he was sure he gave me the shot.. There was no charge, and only a short questionnaire. Till the end of this week, Ontario has restricted vaccines to high risk groups, because of a rush after a 12 year old died. Beginning next week, it will be open to the general public.

Get your vaccines!...then you won't have to worry about it anymore.

That denial thing about plastic surgery was part of the weirdness of show biz..imo. We ALL knew he had work done..wink

It's a game they all play..and Michael was expert at playing the game.

"Inappropriate relationships"? ...Michael was a target for any grifter... and maybe yes, the kids were part of his image.. But, a child rapist is a very special kind of person... Not just anyone has it within himself to penetrate a child's body.. I don't see that in Mike.

Exactly!! It's all about worshiping the greater glory of Obama for some Obama supporters, opposed to supporting the issues the way TRUE progressives do. What some blind supporters of Obama don't realize is that true progressives care about the issues above all things - we're not in this to worship an idol, never were. Put simply: It ain't about Obama and never was (even he admitted this during the campaign!). It's about universal healthcare, getting out of Afghanistan, restructuring or abolishing NAFTA, repealing DADT, increasing jobs for the middle class and stopping the banks from running this country.

Some believed that Obama would champion some of these causes and he clearly has not thus far in his presidency. If he's not taking the proper steps to champion these things, I reserve the right to criticize him because then he no longer represents my interest.

Many of us thought Obama was something he clearly was not due to his populist campaign (some saw the light during the campaign!). Those who care about THE ISSUES and now know the truth about Obama are back to supporting the issues instead of having hope in someone who has proved to be hopeless thus far.

I believe Booman is on the payroll of the administration - I wouldn't put anything pass them.

It seems to me that Obama's presidency is calling up a great deal of misplaced emotion/grievance from people who project their personal stories onto him...suddenly "why isn't he standing up for the public option?" becomes "why didn't you take out the garbage last night, you lazy negro?"..

Oh they are. As are asian people. And latino people. When stuck in an office together people notice a lot. They might not trip over it but I'm sure "what is up with her hair" has crossed their mind and it has been whispered about.

This is not exclusive to black woman and bad weaves. This applies to white/asian/latino woman with bad dye jobs, noticable roots or bad extensions. Men of any color with bad haircuts.

When people are bored (most lower to mid level employees) or image conscious (upper management) they notice these things.
