And although our quality of content will play a big part in that, there are other reasons too. One of them I will be able to announce on the 13 October, the other...you (and everyone reading this) will need to discover for yourself. It's significant though, very very significant. :)

Re: PR people: 10 ways to screw up @techcrunch’s embargo policy

"just give the exclusive to Techcrunch"!?! I dig Techcrunch but you know they won't be the most influential/popular tech blog forever...There are big changes coming :)

Re: Antifeatures: big mistake that location app developers make

Hey Robert, a couple of quick points and a thank you.

First, I still stand by the fact that being forced to be at the location to check in is a good thing - because it means businesses and individuals can't 'game' the entire system.

Second, what I do hope however is that Gowalla will offer a "privacy" option that hides your location from some or all of your "friends"...or maybe even provide a "delayed" option that only shows the world your location some time after you've been there.

Regarding being able to check in from home, I personally would never want people to know when I'm home or not. I'll put money on it that most non-geeks would be in the same boat.

Finally, thank you ever so much for naming me one of your favorite tech writers. Considering your tech pedigree, it's a genuine honour.

Re: Lucky #9? Funny, I used to do it in the past, till I lived in the far east for a while and would say "Call me Zee". They heard "Ko Mi Zee"..."Aahhh..Ko Mi Zee san" the Japanese would say. :)

Re: Test post (Scripting News)

so difficult to ignore.
