I was bullied so much that I had very little confidence. I had a lot of rage though and it was pent up and I would lash out at my tormentors. I was also bigger than most of them too and I was in a very small school that had 20 kids in my class. We were all in the same class year after year. There was one very important event that transpired. My main tormentor was following behind me screaming at me and threatening me as I walked home from school. I turned around and punched him squarely in the nose. He did not move or say anything. I got afraid and ran home. Years and years later at my 5 year high school reunion, this guy introduced me to his wife as the only guy who ever made him cry. Apparently what I thought was something that didn't hurt him at all was him stifling crying from my punch. I said I never knew that and he said, of course not, that would have given you confidence.

So the point I guess is that had I known that this guy could never really hurt me and in fact I could hurt him by ignoring him and physically punching him I'd have been more confident. The thing is this guy had a sad life and he lashed out by projecting his problems on everyone else.

Do I know the answer to bullying, no. There is one man who is very knowledgeable on bullying and I think you might want to reach out to him, his name is Ed Gerety and he can be found at edgeretyblog.com.

Re: Parenting the endless sacrifice or the sacrifice for the future?

I think that I could always sacrifice more. No matter how much my wife tells me that I am a great dad I feel major guilt whenever I work from home and watch Eva at the same time. I hate using the idiot box as a babysitter while I work even if it is only for an hour or so. As for sacrificing money and such we try to budget really tightly so that we can afford things like vacations that we can pay for with cash. We did the Financial Peace University class at our church and that is one of the best things we have ever done as a couple and as parents. It really opened our eyes to the importance for sacrificing for our future and for Eva's. I grew up working hard for my Dad who has worked his entire life with his hands. I've seen his sacrifice for us. I hope that somehow I can instill that in Eva, although it is hard for her to see me as working when I am on a computer, the same thing that she uses to play games.

Re: The WAH Factor

It still just blows me away when brands or even other bloggers know who I am. I ran into another blogger briefly at BWE and they told me how they have followed my photo-a-day project from the beginning. I was floored. I can't imagine having the audacity to say, "do you know who I am?" Even if I ever get to a level where brands are recognizing me more I'm pretty sure that it is not going to go to my head in that way. I think that sometimes Social Media "fame" just amplifies the douchebaggery that already exists.

Re: Kodak PlaySport Zx3 WaterProof Video Camera Review

Even before the trip to Disney and the pool we had taken ours into the salt water, I had no audio problems then at all. Strange.

Re: Kodak PlaySport Zx3 WaterProof Video Camera Review

That was a very thorough review. I did notice a small strangeness in the audio after we had played with the camera in the pool during our last trip. I thought it was because I had set the camera on underwater mode. Never even thought that the water would be an issue. I have a Sanyo Xacti EC1 and have never had an audio problem except for wind, wind is gonna be tough with any camera that is the same sort of form factor as the Flip and the Kodak cameras.

Re: I’m Still a Dad Blogger!

Nice job Kevin.
