If my hosting company suddenly folds, I could just go to a new one, restore my WP database and only lose a day or so. I'd still have the same content and would still be at the same URL. In that scenario, at least I wouldn't have to start from scratch.

Is that so true though. Who maintains your sever space? If you do so yourself then you are 100% correct. But, if you don't then what if that company decides they don't want to keep it anymore and just pull the plug without letting you know. Yes, I know that pretty much will never happen, but still.

IE 6 has been the bane of my limited web design for three years now. And now that I am becoming a full time web designer/web developer I hate it even more. IE 6 must go away, I think someone like Google does need to just stop supporting it. If that happens we won't have to worry about it every again.

Twitter actually gives me a bit more value then Friendfeed because on Twitter I follow a ton of other graphic designers and most of them post great links to resources and tutorials everyday. I don't get that from Friendfeed. Most of what I get from Friendfeed is just random news and funny stuff.

I think you make a good point. Twitter doesn't seem to be going anywhere and I think people have become ok with the way things are...well not a ok, but accepting.

Is this really worthy news? OMG! A 16 year old did something that 90% of 16 year olds do. If anyone does get angry over this then you need to go sit in a fire and stay there.

I can't wait to try out the video just to see how good the quality is. Personally I haven't had any trouble with audio quality, but if it is better that would be awesome.

For me Facebook serves its purpose. I'm able to stay connected with Friends and people that I know don't use the other networks that I'm on. Sure it is limited in it's openness, but I don't think of Facebook as something where I'm going to connect with people I don't know. I use it to stay connected with people that I already know on a more personal level. Sites, like Friendfeed and Twitter don't allow me to do that.

But, you have to think about it. It happened so fast. To be able to get a video of the crash someone would have to have been recording a video of the plane in the first place.

Its like I said in the post I wrote on my blog. Its amazing how fast social media can spread news like this. Think about it, this guy got a photo before any of the major news outlets could even think about getting a photo or even video.
