I use Splenda because I'm diabetic and just recently switched to Stevia. Are there any studies on the subject you know of? I've used Dragon Naturally Speaking before and it works good. Where I live it's too expensive to buy organic fruits and vegetables .. unfortunately.

Thanks for the info!

..BB

Re: Introducing the New Blokester Buttons

@Kristina Summers .. just got your message and I'm glad to hear you got it working .. and thanks for adding the button.

Cheers,

..BB

Re: Microsoft Haters Unite

Thanks for saying so Amy and welcome to the blog.

Re: Pew Report: Online Activities and Pursuits

@dugun salonu, and thanks for dropping by!

Re: Redirect Your Blogger Custom Domain to a WWW Subdomain

@Mahmood, you can redirect to any domain you wish.

Re: Can Social Networks Destroy Blogging?

@Matt Hayden, good points there, and I will add that social networks will continue but their growth will eventually bottom-out for three reasons:

1. There will always be noobs who are looking for an easy, introductory way to get into pseudo-blogging.

2. Users will eventually grow out of the confines of a website and get a real blog of their own.

Hopefully :-)

3. One last thing .. I wonder how many of those new Social Network profiles will be abandoned shortly thereafter? It was the same thing for blogging.

Re: 10 Blog Design Tips That Will Take You to the Next Level

@dangrabbit, I intentionally developed the most complicated theme possible ... a decision that I've regretted on more than one occasion. ;-) But I like to get my hands dirty and challenge myself and do that "stretch" think you mentioned.

Re: Learning from blogs or why they are not just for republishing Twitter messages.

Amen to that brother. It can be an effective tool for being heard amongst all the noise from the sock puppets who are dancing to the tune of the piper. A little panache in the delivery can also go a long way. ;-)

I notice (like myself) you and your colleagues will occasionally let your hair down and mention personal items that are not necessarily niche related. I see no problem with that and in fact it only humanises you in the eyes of your readers. So long as the signal-to-noise ratio does not drown out your niche.

That is all. I enjoyed the post and thanks.

Cheers,

..BB

Re: Can Social Networks Destroy Blogging?

@Kris Malena .. amen to that, but unfortunately a lot of newbies are being brainwashed into thinking their Facebook account is the be-end-all because that's all your hear about these days.

Re: Blog Rewards for All my Blokesters

@senuke .. you build credibility by demonstrating you have superior knowledge in your chosen niche. So they don't get my sympathy vote.

I've worked on both sides of the fence and personally I think it's about time the blog marketers have to play according to at least some rules. They've had it all their way for too long, and don't forget the journalists still have to play according to a rule of ethics that bloggers are still exempt.

So I guess we will have to agree to disagree on this one. But I do agree that the FTC can't play favorites when it comes to enforcement of the rules. Either they make everyone play according to the rules or they should get out of the game.

..BB

Re: Can Social Networks Destroy Blogging?

@Tolma?enje ... that's one way to look at it.
