I only ever wear a watch if I'm going out and need to be aware of parking tickets and appointments (because I'm really paranoid about being late to things), other than that, my general clock is mostly my tummy and my dog - because he has to be walked at certain hours of the day or he gets tetchy!

I'm not an authority when it comes to these infections (I'm lucky enough to have avoided them for years) but, depending on your Windows version, I'd grab AVG Free (virus scanner), Spybot Search&Destroy (malware killer), and you may be well served by downloading the official Windows Malicious Software Removal Tool.

If you can download these on a different computer, then all the better, either way, you can disconnect your infected computer from the interweb, boot into safe mode, and run these programs to see how much you can get off.

Keep your kitty inside! My best friend had two cats, one was an outdoor cat, the other one was 100% indoor. Guess which one ended up getting hit by a car and found days later, eventually needing an entire rear leg amputated so it could recover? Yeah, the outdoor cat.

I know that's a bit of a horror story but eh, I wouldn't let my beloved pet (dog) roam, so it seems bizarre to me for people to let their cats roam!

Bonus points if you harness-train your kitty and take it out for walkies! :)

It's a fair bit different (yet also oddly similar) to what I've been reading previously (the works of Gene Wolfe and Jack Vance), but I'm enjoying it even though I'm not a huge way through it. I've already got his other books on my birthday wishlist!

From what I think I remember hearing, the Liverpool sculptures were due to be removed, but public protest meant they get to stay there indefinitely. I did hear that they were a bit problematic at first though, what with people calling the coastguard to save these poor people stuck in the mud!

Exciting is good :) I like grey-based wallpapers with a flash of colour - easy on the eye and uncluttered when you throw windows and icons onto them.

Thanks for commenting, and well, starting the debate. It has been an interesting thing to think about and has gotten a few of us talking about the subject outside of blogs and the internet itself. :)

The point about the artwork being predominantly white is a fair one, I agree there at least! Funny thing is, I never actually realised that until it was pointed out! (But maybe that's because I automatically turn to pages that deal with different ethnicities in a setting and the various non-human subraces? :D)

It's not even as exciting as that! I have to talk about how the dumb Victorians have led to a silly imbalance in Romano-British archaeology because they were obsessed with the rich people and their posh houses instead of, you know, the majority of the population! Then I have to write another essay on Roman relations with Dacia pre-Trajan. Oof and heck and things...! It's tempting to switch off every time I start reading an article, simply because there's so much to do.

This brought a little tear to my eye. You beautifully explained what it is to be a dog lover. I don't know how I'd function without mine, yet we've only been together a year this month. I think I'm gonna go give my doggy a snuggle now :)

I'm just so used to people going "URGH WATER HOW CAN YOU DRINK IT!?" :P Knee-jerk reaction!

In my teens I did wean myself off a Cherry Coke addiction (heh!) and that's when I really started to appreciate water. I can understand the sweetness craving though... I think I may have got past that with snacks (and thus completely negated the health benefits of water... hurr).

Still, for something a little different I can recommend a tall glass of water with ice and a few slices of fresh juicy fruits in the bottom. You can even throw in some sparkling water if you want to make it a little fancier. It's a gentle tasty summer drink :)
