I recently started realizing that despite all the recent 'real-time' changes, etc ... not everyone is touch daily (as many of us are) with all the tech changes continuing at a incredibly hyper pace ..... and have decided to take a broader approach with this blog. Hopefully, time permitting, I can do my small part finding that audience and we can all contribute a little to what works well moving forward.

Re: Get Windows 7 for $99.99

Sarah - Thinkin' the Family Pack is a much better deal for most at $149 for three. Have to say that I've been more than surprised that MSFT hasn't sent an RTM here (without asking). Over 30 years of outspoken support ... (Long story but suffice to say I was one of the original Microsoft OEM system builders and a strong advocate of the Freedom to Innovate initiative ... not to mention one of the early and loudest voices 'lovin' Windows 7. Disqus has some challenges (with Facebook making it easier to connect etc.) but continues to engage the user community directy and add features not to mention exceptional uptime. Still calling a 'win' here. We'll see. Thanks, Charlie

Re: Microsoft Security Essentials: Hype or Reality?

Been using it since the beta. Small footprint. Excellent overall. Windows 7, this and a few other surprises from Microsoft are a great development and are fostering important competition on a variety of fronts .... including cloud computing and even search. I'm VERY surprised that the stock is still 'stuck'. The company has proven, without a doubt, they're very much going to be part of the next generation landscape, despite some price pressure.

Re: Google Friend Connect and MyBlogLog are back

Looking forward to the new additions Dror

Re: ReadyBoost in Windows 7 - It Rocks

Gratifying to know I'll never have to hire a proofreader .... I don't know the company you are linking to, but there are plenty of well-known (and not-so-well-known) small and large SEO companies out there. It's a huge part of the marketing mix. I'm not sure why you used the term 'offshore' but the one thing I will say is that there are also many 'shops' that promote SEO that are either Black Hat (risk of being banned for a long time) or simply 'link landers'. SEO Buyers should do their homework and positively ask for references.

Re: http://blog.louisgray.com/2009/09/livetwazzupcom-has-best-twitter.html

Likin' the way they expand shortened URL references on the right. In all honesty I have been mostly offline the past few days (as evidenced by the 'lack of blogging' :) but I did take a quick look just not and don't see anything new (yet) on the Disqus blog or the Disqus facebook page. Thanks for dropping by! ... I still feel that Disqus provides more versatility (and pretty good spam filtering) as compared with the recent implementations on large blogs of say Facebook Connect and / or Twitter. I've had clients that had no problem putting sensitive data in 'the cloud'. I typically don't. It's not just a 'battle' for ongoing innovation and standards but I think economics will weigh heavily on what gets embraced in the next few years. Think the key factor in the online apps is they're platform independent which for some is inviting, particularly when it comes to cost of upgrading hardware. Well see :)

Re: It's Official - Microsoft to Power Yahoo! If you didn't get the e-mail, Microsoft is requesting feedback on your Windows 7 experience at input.microsoft.com . You may have noticed Google Reader subscribed items in the Blogger log-on plus any sites you join via Google Friend Connect. Seems like a quietly growing but already powerful social / discovery network. Thanks for the heads up!

Re: Google : We're looking at you Microsoft

Jim - I'm dual-booting Windows 7 and XP3 throughout the network with IE, Firefox and Chrome onboard (both). Firefox generally is default. Chrome is factually faster and sometimes even easier to access with Google apps. Sas - Good point but Zoho has a lot of work to do to break out of the tech sector. They have some 'real' users but are a long way from becoming a household word.
