There is nothing new to this story than we already knew. Suffice to say. the media here is in cahoots with law enforcement. Many times stories are slowly pushed to the back burner in exchange for more juicy tidbits from other stories. This is an easy story to hush up by the news, after all they are just "kids being kids": right?

Re: Cops: Freezing teen hid; friends lied

It's sad that this is being swept under the rug. As many people have stated in this forum, this tragedy is a teaching moment for the youth of Marblehead and the surrounding area. Even if you want to just let it rest with the minors, there are adults involved here that should have known better. What about the social host law? What about selling alcohol to minors? What about contributing to the delinquincy of a minor? What about obstruction of justice?

A few weeks ago a teenage Jennifer Meyer from Plainville, drowned in the woods of Norfolk, MA. She had been at an underage party where alcohol was supplied. Her friends who were still grieving were caught at another party a month later. Jennifer's mother went to court where the teens were being arraigned and took the pink bracelets, honoring her daughter, from the those involved in the later party. There is some criminal litigation going on in Norfolk. A very valuable and costly lesson is being learned there. When will the citizens of Marblehead smarten up and show their children that alcohol abuse is no laughing matter?

Re: Council OKs cops' 9/11 pay

The council sat on this issue for a long while, probably waiting for it to cool down. It doesn't look like it cooled down at all by the responses in this forum. Good luck at the next election to those councilors and mayor who supported this sham.

Re: Council OKs cops' 9/11 pay

I was thinking the same thing Ms. B. very good. There was a teacher in Littleton, CO that took a bullet for his students at Columbine. I don't see teachers crying for extra pay for this national tragedy. That's because teachers are professionals and have some class, unlike the Peabody Police Department.

If Peabody Police had any honor left in their greedy little minds they would not only donate the overtime pay but also the entire day's pay to a charity to benefit the true survivors of 9/11.

Re: Salem and Peabody police help provide security for inauguration

I think inauguration day should be a new paid holiday for Peabody police. Superintendents come and go. They are a dime a dozen. The job is nothing but a political post given to who talks the best story.
Mr. Editor let's hear what you have to say about the Gaza situation.

Re: Whistle-blower asks town for $5M

Man this story gets better and better. I think the town should reserve all rights to this story. They can sell it to a publisher or to Hollywood to recoup some of their loses here.

chaaa chingggg....
