OMG - this has happened to a few people I know. Flipping horrific. They banned pictures of breastfeeding mothers too. They have complete control and quite arbitrary decision making processes. Shocked.

There are lessons to be learnt here by any brand.

Has the BBC been through every single tweet that came from this account to ensure that none of them have contained false financial information, links to phishing sites or any other content that didn't come directly from the BBC newsfeed?

If not, you should - quickly!
If everything's ok, you're very, very lucky.

WordPress has a great iPhone app so I can update it easily from my mobile. I'm really interested in the idea of a site that someone could update with text, photos and videos from their mobile phone (whatever model) - could really open up the idea of having a site to people who don't want the 'hassle' of managing one properly (I've met lots of people like that - especially artists/musicians!). Would be good to figure out a way of grabbing audio and uploading it from a smartphone to a social media service that shares sound clips...

Fair point Carl - I may well go with your suggestion for running a Wordpress blog feed into Sweetcron.

I think you're right about it being a useful setup for artists - and I've been thinking about how to set it up so that someone would be able to update their website solely from a mobile phone - I reckon there are quite a few people who don't want to spend a lot of time on their site and want a quick and easy way to update people with photos, tweets, videos etc - they would find this an attractive option.
