I think that's what Griffith has in mind. I can envision a non-tech version of an experimental course http://cit499.info which I tried last spring for IT majors in which I used social media for instructional delivery. Furthermore, I encouraged my students to "build their personal brand" which I think would also be helpful for budding journalists.

It keeps track of doings published since the last email update so that
you send only new stuff. It let's people see your doings right in
their mail without clicking a link.

The "Get Updates" function is for emails you send through OurDoings. Right
now there's no email confirmation about uploads working. I can see how that
could be desirable, though. I'll see what I can come up with.

IF I am already subscribed, why did I NOT receive any notification when my Dropbox Shared folder photos were moved to OurDoings? I even checked my Junk Mail folder to make sure that notification didn't end up there instead of my Inbox.

Thank you for the bug report. I'll make it send a more friendly message, telling you you're already subscribed.

(Email updates from your OurDoings site only happen when you explicitly send them. You're subscribed to your own by default.)

Confirmation of email updates is BROKEN. When I click on the link in the confirmation email, I get the following ERROR:

ERROR: duplicate key value violates unique constraint "subscription_pkey"

Irrespective of Facebook's motivation for Facebook Lite, it's got to be a step in the right direction because Facebook is just too CONFUSING. That's why I've preferred Twitter!

I would use a netbook to "enrich" my tweets because my iPod touch makes it difficult to originate tweets that share content via links.

Hello Thomas! Wow...I have those same fond memories that you have of going with my mom to Oahu Market! (I sincerely hope no one ever comes up with the idea of 'renovating' that old place!) However, I don’t recall the live chickens for sale, but I remember another part of the old downtown on Fort Street Mall—where the old Kress and Woolworth stores were! Do you remember that? (I remember especially getting lost in the old Kress store when I was a small child!) Chinatown seems forever timeless in my mind’s eye, even though I know in reality it continues to evolve.

I have fond memories of going to Oahu Market as a child half a century ago and looking forward to getting a slice of char siu from the meatcutter. I still remember live chickens for sale at a stall at the foot of Bethel Street where it intersects with Nimitz Highway. Does anyone else remember that?
