I like to accentuate one of the positive differences from the "water cooler" context. At a water cooler regardless of whether you've got a lot or a little information or emotion to express, rambling is an option. With twitter if you have a lot to express rambling isn't an option. You can use a &lt;a href="http://twitter.com/atomless/statuses/503146122" rel="nofollow"&gt;URL&lt;/a&gt; or you can use &lt;a href="http://twitter.com/edburton/statuses/469098922" rel="nofollow"&gt;poetry&lt;/a&gt;, or whichever combination of the two works best for you in 140 characters or less. I like to think of it as a way of sharing, saving and reflecting on the often insubstantial and sometimes profound fragments of poetry that constitute daily life that are otherwise in danger of being lost when daily life is lived at a distance from our peers.</description><dc:creator xmlns:dc="http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/">edburton</dc:creator><pubDate>Mon, 07 Jan 2008 04:13:07 -0000</pubDate></item></channel></rss>
