You sell yourself short, Eddie! His art is completely within reach for us both, I think; we might just need Wikipedia at times. I am amazed by that logo; how unusual. Imagine what such an eventuality would have seemed like to the woman in that photo, with her life.

Strangely coincidental.

My fiance, sister and I went to Bess Bistro in Austin this weekend. I found the same photo hanging on the wall of the restaurant and they've clipped the image of the stockings to use as their logo. See www.bessbistro.com.

Also, I have the good fortune of attending George Schmidt's Christmas party each year. He definitely creates some truly amazing work, of which the significance and history go way over my head.

Here, here.

I started using Flickr-to-Twitter in Oct. 2007 and recently switched over to the official Flickr solution. One less middle man, you know.

But, it's so awesome that we've had this functionality nearly two years before Flickr got their act together.

Very important point. I just commented above about early technologies that appeared to be "ahead of their time," when I think the reality is that they were simply above an affordable price point. This also is relevant to the earlier comment about an economy with disposable income. The "premium" Rock Band game isn't so premium in a thriving economy with a lot of disposable income.

Many of the points listed above are important, but don't forget about pricing.

Of the non-consumer electronics products you listed (i.e. web services), not one of them charge. At best Pandora operates under a freemium model, yet it still offers a compelling service for free.

If you focus on consumer electronics, I'd argue that only Rock Band is priced in the premium category. The iPhone was but has fallen to I wouldn't consider $200 (now $99) to be premium in the smart phone market. And the Wii falls well below its console competition.

BTW, Roger McNamee has a Pre because his PE firm, Elevation Partners, is a major investor in Palm and has been heavily involved in the current turn-around attempt.

I'm a first year MBA student and I recently dropped a resume for a Corporate Banking internship at Citi. A few days later, I got word that Citi canceled the interview. I guess this explains why.

I figured it out right after I wrote that tweet. It was complete user error. I defined the class (photos) without naming the element (img) to apply the formatting. It's fixed now.

But it looks like I know who to turn to when I embark on a more thorough design overhaul. :)

i completely agree. i think access to news and information is terrific. it's just that so much of it sucks because of the reason you mention.
