Caribbean Entrepreneur (Jamaica) and regular reader of AVC here.

What Fred described is pretty standard for folks in the Caribbean who want to consume US content, many would love to pay, but simply don't have that option.

To address your point specifically LE. Big business in Jamaica (with a population of close to 3 million) are mail forwarding services, specifically shipme.me and Mailpac. Many Jamaicans purchase items online (most of it from Amazon.com). It's sent to a FL address with a KIN number attached ( this is what they use to identify a specific client's package), after which they bring it to Jamaica where you pick it up at their office or they have it delivered to your doorstep.

I use a J'can dual currency credit card (JMD and USD) with a Jamaican address on Amazon.

I haven't left. It's just not my main phone anymore. I guess the question you should ask me is if the iPhone will ever be my main phone again. That's dependent on what Apple does with iOS7.

That's a native Google Maps API. Nothing Unique to the Yellow Pages app. Try it online.

I agree, When somebody says for e.g " This government is horrible" we assume that they're talking about the ruling/majority party, because they are after all the policy makers, so blame would naturally land at their feet; that's all fine and dandy. But when a Diplomat of our country is going to unequivocally state that the opposition is not apart of the Government then that's a problem.

People should at least know that the opposition is apart of the government, whether they have clout or not is a non-issue. Maybe it was naive of me to think that a diplomat should know this; adding insult to injury he did not think he was wrong.
