But his other point about why are we looking to "sh*t can" the legend is good too. The man did make FSU what it is (as he says) as much as these probationary periods helped (although I would suggest moreso as he was pretty amazing with zero talent pretty much AS SOON as he got there see those first few seasons long before these probations).. Should we really be driving him out. If FSU returns to mediocrity on a permenant basis, which is where we seem to be, I'll probably still be a fan, I've waited through all of this gut wrenching football.

That said. If FSU can't return to 11-1 10-2 seasons (or 13-1, 12-2 as the case would be now), it should at least be having 10 win seasons. You guys keep saying we can't compete with what? We are in the ACC, none of them recruit our talent with rare year-to-year exceptions like North Carolina BUT MIAMI, and we've been playing them close this WHOLE TIME. I would settle for truely competive in the league. Beat WAKE, BC, NC State and Maryland every year almost. Beat Clemson most years, and win most of the cross conference games and if i'm still b*tching then tell me "you can't be what you once were". I'll settle at this point for not stinking it up in the ACC. We'll discuss old FSU later.

I think they could afford it. Even if it causes much pain and cancellations to upcoming athletic program improvements it might be necessary. I'm not saying it is at this point just that they might not be able to NOT do it if things keep on this way.

I think we offered that QB USF was using if he would play WR. Don't really feel like checking into that... I'd still rather Ponder under center so I'm not crying over that "spilt milk" if you were referring to that.

You may have a point on poor recruiting choices being made in Tallahassee and I do think they have become a bit too much star chaser and not enough take what you need. I still think we should be performing better.

You might be right in your earlier post about those people not being true fans but the game does get worthless to the outside viewer I think. I couldn't give a crap about Tennessee-FLA, UCLA-USC or several other once good rivalry games just because I'm no true fan of any of the teams and one has dominated the other. I think maybe the reference should have been to the quality of the rivalry when it is one-sided. I know it is FSU that needs to step up and compete though I'm not critsizing anything but that.

Trailerhassee is a bit rich though coming from someone who is a fan of a Gainsville based school. Knowing both cities well I would opt for Tallahassee in any situation that didn't involve the need for severe medical care. And I would suggest the manufactured home count is far greater in the Gainesville region. I'll point out the roughly 8% higher per capita income in Tallahassee (with a lower number of caucasian households), the difference in people living above/below the poverty line also favors Tallahassee over the Hogtown.

Bowden has been quoted as stating that without the probationary periods of UF and MyAmUh, the FSU program would not have enjoyed the quaint little run it had...

Simply stated it was enough to beat FSU...

However, your concern shouldn't be the recruits that aren't opting for FSU over USF or other schools when offered but the ones that the current staff simply dismisses and overlooks despite the recruits showing an interest in coming to Trailerhassee...

FSU flat got beat by USF - whipped on both sides of the ball. That is generally, but not always, an indication of talent. That said, I'll take FSU's talent over USF's right now - regardless of what that d*mn scoreboard said.

You're not going to find a lot of guys that got an offer from FSU or UF and instead chose USF.

Meyer offered & lost both Leslie Stirrups and Kayvon Webster. Bowden offered & lost Ricardo Dixon. Both UF & FSU offered & lost Ryne Giddins, but there aren't a lot outside of those guys.

Surprisingly, I think Ole Miss has lost more offered recruits to USF than anybody in the last four years.

I wouldn't call it "blind" loyalty. I'm certainly grateful for what he's done and I want to see the university honor the commitment that was made to him. The whole point of a coach in waiting is that its a managed transition. That process should begin at the end of the season with Jimbo assuming full control. If Bowden wants to stick around to walk the sidelines & let the coaches coach, then I'm all for it.

Not realized by alot of people who would like a flushing of the entire staff up there is that Bowden's annual contracts call for a cool million dollar payout when he leaves...

Whether by choice or force barring some type of extreme due cause...

The Sybilnoles simply can't afford to drop SIX MILLION in payouts just to douche the house...

On top of the over ONE MILLION already spent on the losing battle of academic fraud appeals...

It's a predicament that simply shows the ridiculously mishandled fiscal management of the entire situation that is the Florida Schizo U football program...

Between Tk and BB, they have just about finished burnng that place to the ground...

One such rumor had long-term defensive coordinator Mickey Andrews challenging Fisher over who should give the pre-game speech to the team.

K-Hue, from what I understand the problem isn't Andrews...

It's Amato...

Andrews was begged back by Jimbo when Mickey pondered retirement because Bowden was poised to name Amato the DC in Andrews place...

As well as, it was Amato that took issue with Jimbo giving the pregame speech before the South Florida game when Bowden failed to even show up in the FSU locker room; instead reportedly hanging out in his office with his buddys from Alabama...

And it's even been rumored that there was an actual physical altercation between Fisher and Amato prior to the USF week of practice that led to Amato slugging Jimbo in the mouth...

Bowden and his boys have been taking a state university for a ride and milking money from it for the better part of nearly three years now...

His disdain for the the FSU fanbase and boosters have been quite clear since the forced resignation of his son, Jeff...

While so many fans seem to care about him, this man no longer gives a rat's ass about the fanbase or the program but rather is simply milking every last bit of cash that he can possibly squeeze out before he leaves...

And that's if he leaves or at least leaves quietly...

Which is seeming like a long shot, but I guess we'll see what happens with this "major announcement"...

GH, all is well now...got it replaced last night at 9pm...had to call Best Buy and talk to the geek squad with the warranty dept ( btw they are located in Florida )...talked to a very nice lady who happened to be a Alabama fan...after telling her my problem about the lamp going out and having a big game on tv between OU and Miami on Saturday, she located a repair service close to my home and set it up to be fixed last night...( I promised her I would root for Bama against Kentucky )......not a bad price to pay ;-)

The repairman told me the lamps were $ 250.00 each.....I think I will buy one to keep around in case of an emergency.....btw, they are easy to replace...just too damn expensive.
