I am an online friend of both Scoble and LG. I follow what they say in both Friendfeed and also there Google Reader Shared Items.

If Scoble shares an item over at gReader, then I will get to see it. If LG shares the SAME item over at gReader, then I will see it a SECOND time. I might also like it and share it with my gReader friends.

That means that me, Scoble and LG all see this item THREE times. It also means Friend Feed sees this item a minimum of three times.

FF and gReader need to start working together. If I share something with a comment, and Scoble shares the same thing with another comment, and also LG does the same, then it needs to be recognised over at FF that we have all shared it and put all three of us in the same FF item flow, with our comments all at the same place.

Finally, if someone comments over at the blog article itself, then it would be good to see that imported into FF, and the other way round.

Just my $0.02

Re: Adding Adsense to RSS feeds

Crack on.. Personally. I read all blogs through google reader anyway. If its a really useful post, I will click through.. Most times the ad is related to the post anyway.

Re: Facebook Adds Profile Preview Feature

Ok I tried this out.. and I have created my own LIMITED profile, where I put people who I do not want to see my wall or tagged photos of me.

But.. they can! Now the wall doesnt have what anyone has written down, but it did have the comments I made on others photos!! Also all the photos tagged of me could be seen?

very insightful...

However, this is VERY useful. Now I know what people can see across my profile..

Re: How Best To Be A Social Media Monster In Europe?

I agree with Jackie.. if I am abroad for a long time, the best solution is to get a local pay as you go simcard.

Ok new number, but setup a vm on your old number that points to your temporary number, or just pick up your messages occasionally.

Re: Stowe Boyd’s Future OS - reading the tea leaves

Those who live in the first world have had it easy.. fast internet access, with decent laptops and desktops. In the third world, its the mobile phone that is making people communicate. The OLPC is a great concept, and with the new EeePC and other manufacturers creating low cost laptops, its only a matter of time before you will be using the phone to speak over something like Skype and chat with Messenger.. and then plug it in to a low cost machine for office apps.

The kindle doesn't have a 3.5" screen, but has mobile access. All we need is a low cost LCD screen and keyboard, and the phone will hold the simple and secure OS.

It might not be done for Windows 7, but the next gen after that will definitely be mobile based. Having the ability to carry your computer with you always, and only having to get hold of a screen and KB & Mouse will be what people will be looking for...

Re: Stowe Boyd’s Future OS - reading the tea leaves

My opinion for the next OS is similar to Stowes... its going to be moving to a mobile cell phone based model. While the handset makers are creating more powerful and more feature rich devices, its not the first world that is going to be behind the next revolution in computing.
M$ should create a simple but secure OS that can hold some local data, but make it relevant to data centers and mobile operators around the world to provide the access. These two will soon merge and a respectable data plan on mobile phones, with these same phones providing a wireless mesh like availability, will be what we next see in an OS.

Re: Early notes on GoogleApps (Scripting News)

Dave... confusing title.. especially as Google has a Google Apps www.google.com/a

Nice article though

Re: Can we get a little sanity here please

Fully agree! Sometimes I look at the applications that are available, and whether they get decent reviews or not, and before you know it you have a new username and need to add some friends.

What's needed right now is XYZ application, that has the ability to say, "these people are my friends, and if I add them or they add me then don't bother telling me" Any new service I can add to XYZ and it will automatically add my old friends etc.. we do need some link in!

You're in my priority list in gReader right now, so as long as you have something interesting to say, then its gonna get read! I will tell you now, that you leave it a month or so without adding some value, you will get relegated to my secondary list.. and these days thats a "Mark all as read" :)

Re: Can we get a little sanity here please

Guilty as charged!
