Seeing as how all my data is in Google, do I need to answer that one?

In the end, I always reach the same conclusion: in a big company my data will be safer. It's more difficult to hack Google's servers, they backup their data more regularly... Yeah, sure, they are a bigger target for any malicious goal, but eventually they'll repair the damage easily.

When my iMac breaks down, I'm going to replace it with a Netbook computer. Seriously, if I can connect it to a big LED TV via wi-fi I don't think I'm going to need a desktop computer anymore. Almost everything I do nowadays is on the web, and for my pictures, videos and music I have a big external hard drive. I don't use printers.

I could buy a Macbook, perhaps, but I prefer something that is not expensive, in case I lose it or break it.

So yes, I think netbooks are the future.

What I think is that in the long term we need to integrate all these streams into one or else we're gonna get lost in all those social networks. The way this integration must be done remains to be seen, but the course of events suggests that in the near future all the blogging experience must be reinvented, from post to comments.

"Sounds of the Universe" is quite a disappointment IMHO. "Yes", as you say, was quite unexpected and I find it much much better: even people who never liked PSB agree to say that it's a top-notch album. Quite a surprise!

However, it is fair to say that the "Wrong" video is possibly the best I've seen so far in my life. It seems like a deleted scene from a "Saw" movie...

Just a quick reminder: if you want to build your Twitter-like community the easiest way (Twitter "for dummies"?) is to set up a blog in wordpress.com and use the Prologue or the P2 theme. They're made for that. No need to use code.

Here's the thing: I'm not a techie guy, never was. Some time ago I started following Scoble's blog and thanks to him now I have a presence in Twitter and Friendfeed. And thanks to him I can now have interesting debates in internet that I was not able to have in my little blog. So, for me, in a way Scoble was a blessing, and got me interested in plenty of tech stuff that I wasn't aware of, up to the point that now I'm starting to think seriously about abandoning my blog and establishing my social base in Twitter/Friendfeed.

As to the merging of Twitter+blogging, I've tried Twitblogs and now I'm using Twitwall. I find those services amazing, although still in the early stages. But I think they will become the future because:

1. People can follow everything you do just from your Twitter account
2. Forget about fancy domain names and all that stuff for your website: it's all linked to your Twitter
3. Your templates are all the same in all your websites
4. You can easily identify your commenters just by clicking on their name and have access to their twits

I'm quite impressed with the path Twitter is following. I consider Tweetree a replacement for tumblelog services such as Posterous, and with Twitblogs ( http://www.twitblogs.com ) now you have a full blogging tool. At this time anyone can establish their social base in Twitter, just with one login account. As I said in this post ( http://friendfeed.com/e/02c6deb7-78b3-4e74-b009... ) Friendfeed needs to hurry or it's going to lose market share.

Couldn't agree more! If we put the focus only in what the gurus say there will be plenty of opinions left out of the game. It's a litte bit what's happening in Friendfeed (look at ffholic.com every once in a while and you'll realize it): its endogamy may kill it in the future, because the "regular users" will end up thinking that their opinions don't matter.

Quite difficult, especially if you want to build an alternative selection of news. As soon as you start making money you jump into the mainstream.

Look at what happened to the Huffington Post: they managed to jump from personal blog to internet newspaper, but they lost the personal touch in the process... Right now it's not the NY Times but almost.

De todas formas, concrepo con él en que una BB no es un iPhone. Para mí la BB tiene que tener teclas físicas; lo de la pantalla táctil es una pijada sin sentido para la funcionalidad que se le supone al aparato.

If you consider twitter a form of blogging then yes, it can be considered a form of journalism too.

Journalism definition: the collection and editing of news for presentation through the media.

I think it fits.

Demos tiempo a opinar a todo el mundo. Por lo que voy leyendo, lo ideal sería un híbrido blog/tumblelog, con un formato más estilo blog y alternando textos largos y cortos, ¿no?

Abriré algo en Wordpress que tenga pinta de Tumblelog... o cambiaré el tema de Tumblr para que parezca más un blog... o... joder, qué lío. ¡Que se definan las masas!
