The left fan on my macbook pro is acting up and it's driving me bonkers. Until I get it fixed (later this week), I refuse to use it.

Re: Eee PC & Windows 7

Thank you!

Re: Complaints about GTD

I understand what you're saying. It's either too strict or too flexible depending on the situation. You end of spending a lot of time thinking, planning, contexting & filing -- instead of doing. I am not sure if that's entirely my fault or the nature of the work that I do.

I don't have a problem so much with the calendar (lots of meetings), but the context based system seems too cumbersome for me. Being a project based guy, I like to do a, b, c, d - rather than doing all the a's at once, then all the b's and so on.

I've tried to stick with it and have fallen off the bandwagon numerous times only to pick it back up. It's a good system for being able to start again and pound through a couple of days of uber productivity and then drop it again. Probably not the best strategy, but it's the one I have been using.

If it isn't GTD, then what? Do we need a new system? What does that look like? Keep thinking and keep writing and I'll keep reading.

Oh and by the way, do you have a good recipe for Snickerdoodle?

Re: Testing out iPhone App

A little more depth: http://www.junyor.net/2008/11/12/carrying-two-p...

Re: Testing out iPhone App

I am carrying two phones now, the iPhone & the Blackberry Bold. I made the decision that instead of trying to have one device that could do everything, I would pick two that were the best in their fields. The integrated search feature only let's you search feed titles. This is only cool if you have a zillion feeds and you only want to read something from a certain feed. It doesn't have the capability to find that great article you read 2 weeks ago about the singing cat.

Re: Free Energy?

So what, no free energy?

Re: Password-protected Bullets

Totally agree with the points you've made...however, think of the children

Re: Update

Congratulations & Best of Luck!

Re: A neocon view.

Wow. That is a pretty heavy article for you to post. I am not sure that Fukuyama’s article is helpful in deciphering how the United States should approach foreign policy. (Maybe the book goes into more detail / doubt that I will invest the energy of reading it.) In my opinion this article is, to quote WS, “Full of sound and fury; signifying nothing”

You may want to take a look at “The End of Fukuyama: Why his latest pronouncements miss the mark. By Christopher Hitchens” to get a better understanding of the opposition to Fukuyama’s point of view.

However, I think both authors miss the point. In my humble opinion, Anti-Americanism is a product of America’s status as the preeminent superpower in the world.

It seems to me that the real argument is how to approach foreign policy (soft power – diplomacy & economics) vs (hard power – bombs & troops). To that I only have one response, to quote TR, "Speak softly and carry a big stick; you will go far"

How will history remember this war? I don’t have a crystal ball and I doubt that Mr. Fukuyama does either.
