I actually wrote this post over a year ago (5-17-08 to be precise) so the site has undergone many changes since then. Onle of the last changes I made was to go with a very light theme with no CSS so that people could choose their own font via their browser preference.

However, that doesn't mean I'm not using *any* plugins now.. In fact, I currently have 33 active plugins, including: Add to Any, Akismet, All In One SEO, Disqus and more.

Hm, I could probably stand to get rid of some of the older ones, though.

Definitely a concern as well. I think interaction has decreased since the Facebook announcement, but it's been downhill since before then.

You're absolutely right Shevonne, I think the lack of diversity is a contributor, not necessarily the root of the problem.

Scoble and I use the site for different purposes and objectives, so we expect different things out of it.

Scoble has a lot to answer for in his own behaviour. I'm not agreeing with his behaviour, just his sentiment about chatroom/forum problem

Daniel, I just saw your post and sent you a Google Wave invitation. It will take a few days before they invite you. Here's some information directly from Google about the Wave invitation process:

Use Desktop Manager ( On Windows) look for back up and restore click restore. load your database backup and tick bbm contacts. Don't remember exact instructions.

Yes, reactions does work with shortened URLs. There is a current bug where reactions won't show if you change your article permalink. We're working on fixing this.

This is due to a privacy setting with Facebook.

Of course. If nothing is set, Gravatars will always be used if available.
