I'm not the only user and windows just seemed to work...
the netbook I chose was the Acer Aspire One and to get the non-SSD HD I needed to chose an XP setup, 160GB as compared to 8GB, big difference especially since one major roles my netbook has is storing my photos while on travel.

Re: Dell Inspiron Mini gets new name, higher price

I know its a 'netbook' but 8gb not going to do it for me...

Re: Ping.fm / Blog / Socialthing! Now my long term question is, what happens when ST's list catches up to Ping's?

Re: Ping.fm / Blog / Socialthing! In The House

this is where sites like Ping and SocialThing work well together. Ping helps push your life to all the various networks so that all your interfriends can see them without 'you' having to login to each, and SocialThing does the opposite (and partially the same) where it pulls everything from connected sites so you only have to go to one place... basically SocialThing+Ping brings the everything under one page

Re: Now the Deal is Closed: Plaxo has Become a Business Unit of Comcast Interactive Media

so whats the latest?

Re: Four ways Google could destroy Digg

I'm hoping they leave Digg to manage itself, but I see that highly as doubtful. The examples here are great and pretty truthful. This does not mean that all Google acquisitions are 'doomed', but the 'unloved' category seems to fit. Again if the acquisition does go through.. I just hope Digg is allowed to exist pretty much on its own. As for integration, well besides Google Accounts, I could see an integration of the Google Reader's share and note features being nice.

Re: Yahoo Groups or Google Groups or ? A $0.30 chip upgrade... well that is pretty much par, the fact that it was left out on the first iPhone... we won't get into that. Also why are you surprised they cheered the new headphone jack, it doesn't matter what they release, they always cheer, they are mac addicts.

Anyways, I agree with your assessment of the presentation of the SDK and sample apps, this was old news, but it was spun as if it was new (but you must give credit to the marketing team). That said, the availability of an SDK for a smartphone is what make a phone 'smart'. A user has to have the ability to pick and choose applications that make their smartphone work best for them. Heck this is the main reason that Palm has been able to get away without an OS upgrade in over 5 years.

As for the Push service, now this was news (not unexpected, but news), and about time. I'm really curious to see the affect that the addition of Exchange support will have on the market, an actual product from Apple for the corporate user, hmm.

Re: Comcast to Acquire Plaxo; Pulse to Become Central to Creating Unified “Social Media” Experience Across the Web, the TV (and more)

well, I guess congrats are in order. All I hope is that Comcast allows the current leadership at Plaxo to continue taking Plaxo to the next level. chances are probably slim, but we can hope and see.
