2007, I called Twitter the answer to phpBB because it was the threadless communication platform. 2008, I told people - it's an uninterrupted stream of consciousness.

FriendFeed brought phpBB back to the table with threaded conversations, and honestly - I've looked at it about .1% of anything else I use. The saturation of quality vs. crap is just a tad bit too high; and the more popular the site gets, the worse it will get.

Sorry to say, most people will agree, but the "general population" isn't profound often enough, but they still enjoy being heard. In fact, if the general pop. was profound, it wouldn't be profound/intelligent then... would it?

Twitter is a fundamental form of communication with very precise functions. Exploitation is still available to spammers, but blocking is king in that regard, I reckon.

If you gotta be heard so bad that a comment structure attached to a Tweet is going to ruffle the fabric of your Twitterverse - try a tweet format that's not "RT" based, but link threaded, like so :: %COMMENT% RT @username http://lbit.ly/to_status ... done. Seems simple.

Allow me to ... think.

To approach your argument correctly, I need to first find out whether or not your fundamental christian beliefs in a man-delivered book of the "word of God" are remotely reasonable. I also need to take into account that beliefs and faith are two very personally held structures by any one or group of persons, and therefore:

I need to keep my opinions of your religiously rooted insights to myself, as I can't tell you what to believe. On another note, I can tell you that your own ego (humanity believing they can define God) and vanity in those beliefs (denouncing anyone that claims man-made your beliefs) creates the paradox to end all arguments regarding rapture, apocalypse, etc. If you are correct, you will also find out soon enough what exactly it means to be as religious as you are. Faith, is the key to happiness, not faith in religion. Take that with you and you'll live better.

That idea might violate the "User Experience" control-Nazi thing they have going on with their "happy go lucky" washed out outlook on society... Yep, actually, I'm positive it does. I didn't even touch on that in this post, actually - and totally should have. They're restricted - understandably so - but we Americans should be sick of blatant Big Brother. heh

Great point! Definitely don't actually use "$this" as a variable in PHP, it's actually good practice to just not use "this" as a variable anywhere - it's too ambiguous, but it's also a reserved term in quite a few languages as well

FriendFeed is pretty difficult to navigate and filter. There are Lists and Rooms for seperating content, but all in all, it is way too easy to get too much info, and that kind of UI flubbing will keep FriendFeed from going mainstream. Facebook's new interface is way too darn busy, but the news feed section and left panel on the home page was a great move.

The likeness Facebook's new features has to Twitter and FriendFeed alike shows that they are apying attention at least, now if they can just unclutter the mess they have on the right of the homepage/news feed... all the better.

Yes, Haptic Feedback is part of the hardware feature set on the N97's touchscreen; feeling when you press something correctly on the screen instead of merely seeing.
