Translation is a good idea but I have modified the script slightly to allow for multiple spoken languages. For instance, I speak German, English, and a little Spanish, and it is really weird to see a (usually quite bad) Google translation of an English-language review into my native German when I could just read the original English. The modification is really easy. I added an array that includes all the languages I speak at the top:

NATIVE_LANGUAGE = 'de'
SPOKEN_LANGUAGES = [ 'de', 'en', 'es' ] # this is new

and then I changed line 157 from:
if ! store[:language].empty? && store[:language] != NATIVE_LANGUAGE
to:
if ! store[:language].empty? && !SPOKEN_LANGUAGES.include?(store[:language])

That's it. Perhaps you'd like to integrate this into your script?

Re: you guys: - via <a...

Wonderful!

Re: Friendfeed Like Compatibility Calculator

Felix, could you check whether it really returns 300. I'm playing with the same thing (in Python) and regardless even if I ask the API for 300 items, I only get 30. And it seems to me you're only getting the most recent 30 likes, too. At least that's the case when I try your script with my username (ole).

Re: Google App Engine: First Impressions

Benjamin, have you released your changes to the FriendFeed Python library somewhere? I'd like to build a little FF tool on App Engine (http://friendfeed.com/e/d150f88e-b6f9-6ebe-57ad...) and it would be easier if I wouldn't have to change from sockets to Google's URL Fetch.

Re: Steven Spielberg, Harisson Ford, George Lucas in Seesmic this morning

Congratulations guys! The hilarious Harrison Ford thread convinced me that I actually love video conversations.
