I think self-hosted lifestreaming is the best solution. Atleast until there is really one big company that runs a lifestreaming service (like blogger and wordpress are now big enough to trust your blog to) with enough modification possible.

I eventually ended up writing my own self-hosted-stream-blog code-thingie-stuff (http://pascal.orangepixel.net/) , but there are others out there that can be tweaked to your personal taste. And isn't that an important aspect of your personal lifestream: not some generic service with look and feel, but a personality that suits you?

hmm I had no problems trying to get it working .. sounds like a problem with the template (older version perhaps?)

can always try to include the code yourself ;)

ervaringen zijn erg goed tot nu toe.. enige minpuntje is dat mijn geluid steeds stopt met werken :/ Zo nu en dan ziet hij de onboard geluid niet meer. Zijn wat oplossingen voor maar dat betekend steeds dingen verwijderen en opnieuw installleren bij elke reboot, en dat schiet niet op ;)

maar goed, we geven nog niet op!

Volgens mij is Ubuntu best goed met het herkennen en ondersteunen van hardware. Ik ben benieuwd hoe je ervaringen zijn!

Mijn probleem met Linux is altijd dat als er iets mis gaat, ik geen idee heb hoe ik het moet fixen :p Maar ik ga Ubuntu van het weekend een keer proberen (via live cd) en hopen dat hij alle hardware goed aan de praat krijgt (mijn 2e en laatste probleem met Ubuntu)

Orange, I agree - in reality, the web UI realtime feed will be much easier to digest for the average user. Where this will be most beneficial will be for developers looking for new ways of digesting real time information. It is a nice way to digest the data in a 3rd party program native to my Mac though.

Having the realtime FF in the sidebar of firefox sort of works, but having it in my IM client, in this shape, really doesn't. Interesting concept, and someone probably takes the idea and runs with it in a slightly better direction ;)
