I'm quite jealous of your new toy. I hear the noise management is phenomenal. If my D200 wasn't completely adequate for my needs, I'd go with the D300. I'm still toying with the thought of going with the D3, but I think I'll wait for the next model to come out (maybe D3X...) so it pushes the price down (maybe.. didn't do it much for the D2-D2X). Really, it's so I can have a full-frame sensor for portraits (for the shallow DoF). But that's pretty damn hard to justify the price until I start doing more portraiture and have a demand for that image style.

Well, I signed up for Disqus- seems like a cool service, but after hearing your review, I'm very disappointed they don't support OpenID (though not like I use it... yet). I totally agree with your decision to go with them versus IntenseDebate for the reasons you described- it's important to be able to easily and efficiently communicate, which is the whole purpose.

oh man! that's a horrible feeling. the only one I ever dropped was my sigma 30mm f/1.4 and it just about killed me to see all that money go *poof*. hopefully this is the last lens you'll ever drop.

the up side- new lens time! ;)
i've been eyeballing that 18-200 vr for my travels...

Looks pretty good. Is the copy and paste real 3.0 system wide copy and paste or their own solution? I think I am going to wait to see how their Excel editing looks before buying either Documents To Go or QuickOffice. I am not loving either of them at the moment.

With the App Store growing so fast it gets harder for the lone developers to get noticed as the App Store features and media focus on the big developers. This sort of network, like Open Feint, will help these smaller developers reach a bigger audience, which will help quality games not get lost in the shuffle.

Ngmoco is an interesting company. I tried Rolando Lite but wasn't feeling it, however I just got Star Defense this weekend and it is great! I hope their FPS is fun, I have yet to try any on the iPhone for fear of wasting my money.

Looks pretty nice! I like the minimal feel to it. Compared to a site like TechCrunch (which is crazy busy), this is nice and calm.

Being a Canadian, it's nice to see a Canadian company putting out interesting iPhone games. Most people probably wouldn't know, but Super Monkey Ball was actually developed for Sega by another Canadian company, Other Ocean Entertainment.

Looks nifty. I have always held off of buying BeeJive because I don't chat that much and I am loyal to Meebo on the desktop. When Meebo presented their app at the 3.0 preview I thought my waiting had finally paid off, but annoyingly they have yet to release the app. I don't know what the hold up is, but they had better get going! BeeJive is looking more and more appealing as I wait.

That seems like a great move by Zoho. They are breaking into Microsoft's own backyard and offering a better solution. Google Docs better take notice if they want to replace Office for businesses.

In Google AdWords you can specify if you want to allow your ad on Mobile devices, so any advertiser that knows what they are doing has probably already Allowed/Disallowed this.

That is nifty. I never tried the original Topple, and was disappointed when I realized they had removed it from the App Store.

I think there will be a number of customers who play Rolando 2 and want more Rolando, leading them to purchase Rolando 1.

Movie Genie is definitely a nice app.

As an alternative to Flixster, which I found didn't work for Canadian movie times, I use Now Playing. It's awesome, fast, and really handy. Doesn't have as many features as flixter, which I see as a positive.

Video on the iPhone is great. I have been using VideoUp for Facebook over the weekend and it is incredibly convenient to upload videos as you make them - rather than waiting until you sync them to the computer.

I think the 3G S will open the door for a number of really exciting apps featuring video uploading/editing.

Will we see an iMovie for the iPhone? I hope so.

I was planning on trying it out on my iPhone at some point. Jott has always looked like an interesting service, though I am not convinced that voice to text is better than just typing it yourself.

I can't imagine a company like EA would support ngmoco's Plus+ network since they must consider ngmoco a competing publisher. If anything I bet they will create their own network just as you mentioned.
