Not true, just tested with $20 Bluetooth headphones on my Galaxy S8+ and if the screen is locked it starts playing a news headlines podcast instead of showing stuff on screen.

gifsicle is a nice find! sooo much faster for making gifs on the pi. anyway, i figured out you can skip the "pile of images" by piping the output of ffmpeg/avconv directly to gifsicle with this syntax:

ffmpeg -i input.avi -vf scale=320:-1 -r 1 -f image2pipe -vcodec gif - | gifsicle --delay=5 --multifile --loop - > output.gif

When you reboot and the openvpn service is starting, if it encounters an error it hangs, and you have to press the Enter or Return key on a USB keyboard connected to the Pi to progress forward with booting. Seems like a bug in OpenVPN!

Works! (On Toshiba CB30...)
I clicked to download 3 of them (They're right there Featured at the top of the Chrome Web Store)... Each click caused a 100MB .crx file download to be started, and it looks like that's just a weird issue, probably that file needed to be downloaded only once. Because after one finished the rest finished immediately, and then three new downloads started, approximately 20MB in size each, also the normal .crx extension... and 20MB is a lot more reasonable for each app, I was worried that each actual app was exactly 101MB for some weird reason. But it's all good now

run services... host an app... essentially, putting the computing resources together to create value (...for other people and then charging them is the usual model, otherwise you could try to make something popular and then charge a 3rd party to advertise, this the other usual model)

Hey thanks for the comment. Short answer, yes and yes. Although I prefer the term "completely or actually vegetarian" as I found myself really upset by leather and wool etc for a while but decided it was ridiculous to not wear or use the things I already had. If anything, it's got to be best to treasure and appreciate these things and the life that gave them to us and to just not buy more. And although I could be called an atheist, I consider myself fairly spiritual and in perpetually in awe of nature, our universe, and the power of the Sun. By the way, this is a fairly old post, for now I am fairly content honing my skills in the context of suburban homesteading, but still hope to be able to practice self-sufficient permaculture on a larger scale at some point in the next 10? years...

Assuming you didn't see the movie Team America, the text onscreen actually says "F.A.G." an acronym for "Film Actors Guild", which is supposed to be making fun of the real Hollywood "Screen Actors Guild"... perhaps in poor taste. In any case, just thought the "Matt Damon" soundbyte was funny and appropriate given the ridiculousness of the real Matt Damon's logic shown here today.

I was wondering if someone would take that the wrong way. Certainly not the message I was trying to convey. Just funny how his "character" in the film Team America says "Matt Damon", and that's all I could think about after reading this article / watching the video above. (I didn't pick the thumbnail picture above, it's just a short youtube clip that I linked to) Really silly movie, please don't take it too seriously!

Well, it could automatically log it for you, and create a history/trends so you can notice patterns over time along with changes in diet, exercise, sleep, hydration. To me that would be the main benefit, because if I use a strip just once I don't know what to compare it to.
