10+ year T-Mo customer here. Love them, but their coverage sucks near my house (suburbs). If I go to the grocery store my connection cuts out completely, but my AT&T phone retains connectivity. Conversely, when I go into the city (Atlanta) - their service is a thing of beauty.

While I do agree there're Sonos competitors, they are few and far between. Outside of LG, I don't know many others. I would be grateful if you could tell me who the others are so I can research them. I did see things like Beep, but they do not have the support of the major streaming services yet. I am not sure who is supporting Play Music. That is why I have resigned myself to make my own solution. Services like Spotify are trying to push a proprietary platform that locks out everybody else.

I am not sure from the Google website or this article, but will this tech support streaming from one device to multiple speakers (in sync), zones, etc? I would love a cheap Sonos competitor. I just used the Squeezebox software (which allows synced multiroom playback) to roll my own Sonos, but something more native to the Google ecosystem would be preferable.

From a Play Music (on the web) perspective... It would be awesome if there was a setting to automatically play the videos. When a video is not available, then the standard cover art or view is presented.

So the iOS version of GMail sucks donkey business, especially given the amount of time we as end users have waited. I think this is a pitfall of agile development. You can put out feature deficient iterations out in Production too quickly. I have my website emails pumped into Gmail. The fact that I can't compose an email "from" my other accounts seem like a glaring omission. Notification Center banners are not implemented, the interface is clunky. Is this what you really wanted to go live with Google?

Even with this, I think Google is far more a leader in the "don't be evil" space than any other company of similar size and scale. However, I will agree that more honesty and more competitiveness is always a good thing.

I am not debating that point. The point is that Google made an exception for Facebook to provide additional functionality for Android contact management. They have decided to change their minds by removing this feature, and thusly tampering with the experience the customer gets to have. I personally don't like having features removed because billion dollar companies feel like they have soapbox to stand on. If Google was so high minded about data liberation, then why the initial exception? I will tell you why, FB helped raise Android's profile as an OS. I remember Google bragging about this in the early days of Android. Now that Android is killing it, now the nerd morals kicks in.

Well, I really like the Facebook sync. It is awesome having the FB profile pics attached to my contact's profile. I really get tired of these types of nerd fights. Of all the causes for Google to take up (i.e. net neutrality, IPv4 shortage, censorship, etc.), they want to champion data liberation of Facebook data? How about this Google, you worry about your platform, and let Facebook worry about theirs. As an end user, I could care less if my Facebook contact information is stored on my phone or in the cloud. Actually cloud storage makes more sense IMHO, but alas, Google did not ask me - the customer. Again, it sounds like a big nerd fight between the "neck beards" and the "hipsters". Perhaps Google is feeling the heat from their so-called non-competitor, and wants to back door the Facebook data? Who knows? Who cares? I just feel like I just got screwed out of one of the cooler features of my phone.

I liked Pownce for the "excessive features". It was a great way to send larger files to a group or to an individual. Now, I have to go back to http://drop.io or something.

Lastly, I am a paid Pownce member. I feel screwed in the deal because I do not want the free TypePad for a year offer. Why would I replace a microblog (with targeted file sharing) with a full on blog? That does not make sense.
