There's really no reason they can't do both. Ford is having tremendous success through social media, and dare I say sales are up as a result. If GM pulls this week off the way SM "should" allow them, they will build the public's trust like companies have never been able to do in the past. Don't be so quick to write off Social Media as a waste of time, money, or energy.

Here's my stats: 2G iPhone, previously unlocked & Jailbroken. Was running 2.0 with T-Mob as carrier.

Here's my experience: Started process last night. "Update"ed through iTunes to 2.2. It started to add 2.2 to my phone, then went into it's normal "Backing up iphone," which took so long I went to bed. When I woke up, my iPhone was on 2.2, and it still showed t-mobile (I left my T-Mob SIM card in the whole time). I made a call, and everything was fine. Then ran Quickpwn on my Mac Pro (intel - quad-core). Took a few minutes, but everything went perfect. I now have cydia, installer, my old cracked apps (had to SSH them again - but worth it), and phone works flawlessly on t-mobile.

Hope this helps a few of you.
