While you're calling companies out for glitched achievements, can we give Square Enix a shout-out? I've been unable to 100% Rise of the Tomb Raider on Xbox One because there's a bug with one of the side missions. I've reached out to them multiple times and they've never responded.

All emotes in games are worth watching for this. If Epic somehow loses, games like Destiny are also gonna have some problems. And if Epic can't be sued for one dance move but can for an entire routine, I'm sure someone will have a word with them about Groove Jam and Dance Therapy.

I was able to get mail onto the tablet without a problem. It wasn't mail that was the issue. It was Tasks. If you want a touch-based Tasks solution, you have to go third-party, and it's not something I'm totally comfortable doing with sensitive info.

That's obviously not what I'm saying, and that wasn't the case for iOS until 7 came out. It just feels like Microsoft is trying to have W8.1 be the OS for everything so badly that it's not focusing enough on what the experience is like for each individual device.

If RT does come with Outlook, it would be worth a look. But again, I'd want something that is built for touch. Using the desktop Outlook seems counterintuitive to me when I can use a touch-based tasks program in iOS Reminders that syncs with Exchange.

Exchange Tasks actually sync with the Reminders app on the iPad, so the iPad is doing something out of the box to support a Microsoft service that Microsoft's own OS isn't doing. I didn't make that up, it's fact. I don't have to buy the Reminders app to use tasks. I don't feel that I should have to buy full desktop Outlook just to accomplish that one thing.

Doing so also defeats the purpose of using a tablet. I have a laptop I could carry around if I wanted to, but I'd rather go with something more portable and lightweight. And something built fully for touch. Windows 8.1, at least when you're using some apps, isn't quite there yet.

I did look into the Channel Master, but it's a pretty expensive investment to make. The process of getting items from that into iTunes (importing, adding metadata, etc.) would have added more work, as well. I want physical copies I can take on my iPad, so a streaming device like the Slingbox doesn't appeal to me.

If you're a big NFL fan, keep an eye out for what DirecTV does with Sunday Ticket this fall. The past few years, they've made it available as a streaming service online, though it's been pricey. Still, if you want access to almost every game and don't want to pay a hefty price for cable on top of that, it's something to watch for.

I do subscribe to Netflix, and I watch a good bit of content from it, but Hulu is another story. The selection always seems iffy, there are commercials, and you have to stream shows (so I can't watch them in Wi-Fi-less locations).

You're right, and it is a concern if that's something that is especially important to you. I see this iPad more as one that can go everywhere with you, and in my time with it I've treated it as such, which has meant I've typically had the brightness down to 30 or 40 percent. I'm not really getting the full benefit of the display anyway, so the color gamut isn't that important to me.

When you compare what you see above to Nintendo's past, there's definitely cause for some skepticism. At the same time, though, it's clear the "Nintendo Way" isn't working for the Wii U, and some of the areas its been stubborn in -- graphics, networking, etc. -- are the reasons why.

I don't think Nintendo is going to replace the Wii U anytime soon, but I'm also not counting out a different strategy when it finally does.

Yes, there are some features of OS X that have minimum system requirements, not unlike updates of iOS where older iPhones and iPads can't use certain features (AirDrop comes to mind). It's a bummer, for sure, but at least older systems can move up to Mavericks at all.

I don't doubt there's a market for the device. But I'm not sure the slate form factor was the way to go. Even discounted at $130, if a kid plans on taking this anywhere, the parent would be wise to buy a case due to the exposed screens. Buy a case and you might as well have bought a 3DS. And it's less portable, to boot.

Because if the store advertises a service and tells customers that they are wiping the system, I think it's fair to expect that it's done correctly. Once that laptop was returned, it became Best Buy's responsibility to clear it and they didn't.

That's a possibility. Those are the only reason I could see myself turning the Ouya on again anytime soon. I'd probably be in the same boat with the Nvidia Shield, too, though that's at least portable and can at least stream PC games.
