Disqus used to allow + and - votes on comments but now only has the 'like' button. We used to be able to set per-comment thresholds that would hide comments after X negative votes but that has pretty obvious problems so It's not surprising that they removed it.

I like the idea of adding filters. A reader could select to filter out any comments from a paricular ID vendor or comments not connected to a 3rd party ID vendor. I also think that Disqus (which I use on my company's 32 newspaper sites) needs a reputation system.

Thank you. They do have accounts and are set as mods but the error I get in WP when they ciick on Comments in the admin sidebar is "You do not have sufficient permissions to access this page."

Giannii - Thank you. We currently have all of the sites listed as separate weblogs under one Disqus account and I would assume that we'd add the new WPMU-powered blogs to that account, also. The Disqus team has been very helpful with scaling issues in the past.

Well if this helps at all... we're running Disqus on 120 newspaper sites and I'd really prefer to keep our new blogging section on Disqus as well (single sign-on, yadda yadda). It's very likely that we'll be using WP MU so any info you can provide about this will help. Thanks.

Robert, take a look at the Kodak Zi6 before you buy the Flip Mino HD. The Zi6 uses AA batteries instead of the Mino HD's built-in rechargeable, has a larger screen, and records to SD flash media - all for less money.

Is this not available to sites using the generic code method of integration? My sites show only a "Please login to comment" bar, which clicks through to the Disqus.com login panel.

We're very happy with the service we've gotten so far from Disqus but there are a few things about ID's interface that we really like. I believe we'd see more use of up/down voting on comments if the icons were thumbs up/down rather than arrows. I also really like how ID exposes the comment's and the user's score without having to mouse over it.

The basic Disqus buttons and UI could use some refinement. This is where ID has Disqus beat, in my opinion. Their forms layout and button design are top-notch.

I would remove the Options button and expose those controls (with a more refined UI) to the user by default - but provide toggles for each option within the admin area.

Some built-in options for comment display and layout (themes, perhaps) would be a nice option.

Actually, Dave, I think most Americans might need to be re-introduced to Iran. It's starting to look like Iran might not be at all what we think it is. Robert Baer's book, "The Devil We Know: Dealing with the new Iranian Superpower" is a real eye-opener. He did a Fresh Air interview (which I believe you commented on at the time?) here.

The moderate page really needs search. I'm sorting through over 900 pages of threads to find the one that needs closing. There has to be a better way, no?

Daniel - thanks for the update. Our issue is that our little community newspapers can be somewhat more sensitive about language than mot of the blogs I read and we're trying to be respectful of community standards in the 35 communities in which we do business. I appreciate your attention on this. We've been testing Disqus all afternoon and are loving it so far.

Any standard bluetooth headset will work with your Mac. I use my Jawbone all the time for iChat and Skype.

I've been unable to open the Settings view in Gmail since the switch to 2.0. I eventually switched to Gmail 1.0 and am grumbling about the lack of colored labels but happy that I have full access to my settings again. Gmail 2.0 was pushed out the door too early.

It's in the iPhoto prefs in iPhoto '08 - they finally moved it from Image Capture, where it never belonged. Dave is right, though, it belongs in System Prefs.
