I don't disagree with what you're saying, but your analogies fall down - the markup in restaurants and on wines and spirits in bars is absolutely HUGE :-)

Re: You are SO unfollowed!

Nobody unfollows or blocks The Bloggess. The experience is not in the design of the site, it's in the content. The design plays a part, and from what we see of the dev team's various posts on ff and on the ff blog, a great deal of thought, effort and feedback goes into every aspect of the layout. This results in a clean, simple site which is easy to use and navigate, and where everything you need is within reach, one or two clicks away.

Re: blog, v2

A wiki'd up blog? What a brilliant idea!

I think most of us probably get linked here from your posts on friendfeed anyway, so as a place to post stuff that's just too big for a friendfeed post, I think your current blog is eminently suitable, but I'd still love to see what you're going to come up with idea-wise for an editable blog. Is it still a personal project, or is there a chance it might come under the friendfeed umbrella-ella-ella?

Re: Ooh, this is fun! -

This conversation alone has about 14 separate Disqus entries in my friends' feed.

Nah, I guess using friendfeed as my blog's comment engine is just not really that feasible. Never mind, I'm happy enough to let your rather excellent script continue bringing friendfeed to my blog.

Re: FriendFeed Comment Widget

Fair points all. Two things stand out:

First - Pat, your level of attention and response to our problems with your scripts are something that many developers could do with learning from. Don't get me wrong, there are some great people out there, turning out an awful lot of fantastic code, but this kind of dedication to the debugging process is still a rare thing.

Second - Disqus totally rules anyway, but in a situation like the one we had here, it really comes into it's own!

And hey, I think we've all learned something about just how much work goes into these scripts, eh?

Re: Have you considered using a blog post title to post a question in friendfeed, and leaving the post itself blank?

Er....why?

[updated]

Never mind.

Note to self - look at your own blog once in a while, slippy, and respond to comments there!

Re: louisgray.com: New NoiseRiver App Adds Interest Filters to FriendFeed Stream

Heh, your English is better than that spoken by most British teenagers these days Karim.

Re: louisgray.com: New NoiseRiver App Adds Interest Filters to FriendFeed Stream

You just wait til they're both up to fighting weights, Louis. :-)

Re: louisgray.com: New NoiseRiver App Adds Interest Filters to FriendFeed Stream

I think that the friendfeed team dropped the ball when they chose popularity ranking instead of keywords and weighting as the content filtering method of choice.
