When you are put in the shoes of people doing the day to day job of "fixing" and "helping" your mind, emotions and actions differ greatly. While I do not agree with the inhumane behavior we observe(d) through history and even today, I have a certain understanding that people on those situation get a pass. To put in the context of the movie, prawns did not land on earth by choice, and those who were rescued did not specifically understand and therefore unbalanced the social structure of Johannesburg, so Humans reaction towards citizens of District 9 is relatable, I do not think I would fare any better.

As far as sequel goes, the flower, the promise from Alien race's "leader" and basic wondering of what happens next is more than enough to continue this amazing story without additional sequel plague. Just like The Matrix needed a trilogy to explore the same motifs (human vs robots), this needs a closure. Terminator 2 was better than 1, Firefly series needed Serenity and District 9 will get District 10 to finish the story, its the question of When, not If.

Re: The Twitter of Tomorrow

Poor Drew :(

Re: BarCamp Boulder 4

Ok you mention hacking chocolate in pretty much every topic example, does such talk already exist? He went from a designer (an awesome one at that) working for one of most demanding and successful marketing agencies to starting successful businesses at the back of coffee shops. All along the way and now more than ever Andrew manages to do amazing things for our Boulder and worldwide entrepreneurial communities with a movement he has begun with Startup Weekend. Now nearly every week one happens somewhere in the globe where people come together and create a business from scratch in 3 days. There is not a better candidate for your well-respected Graduate Program.

I hope you can dedicate some time to look deeper into Andrews application in hopes that you will be able to see what he has accomplished and see the potential that everyone commenting here has already seen.

Thank you for your time,
Stepan Mazurov

Re: My Visit to BirdDog Press in Lyons Colorado

How much does it cost to get a 100 biz. cards letterpressed?

Re: 2009 Goals, a Review of 2008

Its never too late to make a short movie!
