I can't believe I commented without reading through the article. I guess I am no different than any other blog reader in that regard, and the next time readers blast one of my articles I will remember that.

It's too bad that the status quo doesn't get Mexican food. At least they're right on the money with Losole's. I proposed to my wife there. Awesome pasta.

I think you misunderstood what this post was about. This isn't a list of what Gastronomic Fight Club thinks is the Best Food in Omaha. This was the result of voting from our readers. also jacobo's for carnitas to go,i think tijuana is very good for carnita's and taquito's.

I know one of the ice cream shops on 24th serves corn on the cob and I'm pretty sure it's elote style. I still stand by the places on the map for getting good carnitas. Los Compayes, Taqueria Tijuana and Taqueria El Rey in particular.

I've looked at those magnet racks, but I'm not a fan of the idea of needing to transfer spices to another container. Still considering it though if I can't find anything.

There are actually 3 Korean restaurants in Omaha that I know of ( http://bit.ly/q9zc4 ). None of them are great, but none of them are horrible.

The last one I went to, with Jason @ FoodGeekery, was Han Kuk Kwan. You can check out his review here:

The Osso Bucco at Biaggis was served on the bone, so you could dig our some marrow with that, but it looks like they have castrated their menu and took everything that was good off of it. I hope I'm wrong about that.

Vivace's is supposed to be bringing their Osso Bucco back on their menu, so you could try their.

You could also try Le Voltaire or The Boiler Room. If you call ahead by a couple of weeks, you might be able to request it. Or you could just try to get some yourself and roast it at home. Talk to a butcher and have them save you some bones.

But isn't clickpass being used already? On second thought, I think it really is better to have the popular login systems to be "out in the front", other examples would be Google and Yahoo accounts, instead of using clickpass (for which, majority who are not techy, won't even bother checking out).

I assume you mean Louie M's Burger Lust. I've never really cared for their burgers. Every time I've been, they were kind of dry.

Surprisingly I thought the revamped burgers on the new Burger Star menu were pretty darn good, but I've only been once, so it might have been a fluke.

We went mushroom hunting again this year, but this time in Peru, NE. The one thing I noticed was I found more in open areas than I did in heavily wooded areas. One theory is that it was still early in the season and the wooded areas were too cold and maybe didn't get enough sunlight. I also found a lot in some burned field areas, but some people think that's just because they are easier to see against the black ground.

Sorry for the delay in responding. It's really never too early to start looking :-) Well, maybe if there's snow still on the ground...

Seriously though, once the rain starts to come and you have some fairly warm days, you could start looking. There are several sites that have maps that report findings. If you watch the maps, you'll have an idea of when to start looking. They progress from the Southeast to the Midwest. So when they start showing up in Missouri, I'd start looking in Nebraska. That time frame is usually within the 4 weeks before Mother's Day.

Sorry to hear you had such a horrible experience. Did you speak with a manager? It's unacceptable for a table to be forgotten and a manager should do everything in their power to make sure you leave at least satisfied in such a circumstance.

So what steakhouses in Omaha do you recommend?

No doubt. I am trying to be very patient while waiting for an OpenID button just like this new Twitter one. Something along the lines of ClickPass would be just AWESOME since it would help users see ALL of their login options.
