This is slick - I like the reaching back to your own server so you can do the complete payment and coupon validation from the PHP, but out of curiosity... Could you not have implemented coupon validation purely from JavaScript and not needed a pass-through to your server?

I agree Sam - it's bad if only a small catalog is listed. If an e-catalog is fully populated with millions of titles, and the library only pays for what is checked out, it's a big win-win.

I'd expect Google to solve this themselves - note that they already have profiles.google.com redirecting to your plus page if you're logged in. Profiles used to be profiles.google.com/[username].

plus.google.com/[username] seems likely in the near future, and/or with one of their many other shorter urls.

It costs the same number of minutes as if you used your cellular minutes. Used in the states, where T-Mo has pretty great coverage, wi-fi calling should be free... It uses nearly zero T-Mobile infrastructure.

Don't forget the 1:41 Ashton spent watching your vid. That makes it 1:46 total time invested, plus a few for page loads and such. A better estimate would be 2:00, not 0:05.

It's interesting that 13,000 followed the link out of 6,000,000+. The clickthrough ratio of 1:460ish is also interesting. That number, and it's integral, are good measures of influence (and its changing level). I've noticed this changing and clickthroughs on Twitter slowing down.

Seems like Etsy can't handle the traffic... Page load is slow and images aren't loading. Looks like a cool thing to try though.

Hi Paul - this still works like a charm. I strongly advise not to use boot camp unless you absolutely need raw machine level power (gaming, hardware driver development, 100,000,000,000 files open at the same time, etc). An i5 with 4 gigs of memory will be more than enough. You may not want to run 2 vms concurrently, but 1 and OSX will rock.

Win7 is more efficient than XP, so you'll be even happier than I was when I originally wrote this post!

I hadn't heard of this book until reading your post. I found your post through Twitter and following your blog for the last couple years.

Lately I've been examining my team building and considering how to make a team the highlight of a company. I understand how to be a star on a team, but taking and lifting the entire team is high on my mind.

From there, check out the FAQ... There are links to some good instructions on setting up your phone. Following them isn't so hard, but might seem daunting at first. The payoff is worth it though :)

I use wireless tether... it works for the G1, too. You'll love it. You may
have to root the phone first.

FedEx and UPS should go with GoWalla or design their own... They have APIs... They could enhance them so they can dynamically route packages.

I think the concept is a great idea. The buying of FourSquare or another service probably isn't necessary - each of the pack/ship services have their own highly specialized location databases. Adding a web service and app that ties in to their system would be a great business tool.

And... postal carriers should be plugged in to Loopt or another real-time tracking system. Each package should be attached to a carrier or truck. Assuming one has a secure account to log in, one would expect to have much improved tracking.

That's a good way to go and good workaround. I got in and got out without sticking in the crowd on Saturday. Unlocking on a friends or store computer does the trick, but it's still a workaround to an avoidable problem.

No, this is using the standard Android Internet plan ($30.00 per month). Note: If you use a lot of bandwidth with your Android phone, T-Mobile may put restrictions or disable your account... If you use their network for massive data use, be warned that you'll likely get throttled or bumped.

It boggles my mind why Google hasn't released their own web app. My hunch is they didn't in order to keep the Google Voice experience on Android phones more appealing than the iPhone.

I've gotten to the point I use my Android phone for all my calling simply because of Google Voice, and then use my iPhone for communication and the web.

I hear the only drawback to the VoiceCentral web app is the contact integration. Once they add this feature, which should be a relatively simple dev effort, they'll have a terrific GV experience on the iPhone.
