Actually, according to the American Library Association, not all of the books out of that list of 100 are banned or challenged. The list represents the Top 100 Novels of the 20th Century, of which about half have been banned/challenged.

We're just starting to transition to sippy cups and despite claims of "no leak" seals, my son has managed to chew through every kind of top there is and make the cups leak. We can't figure out if the ones with handles or without are best. Should we get cups with straws or without? I think we're just going to go with the old Tupperware standby from when I was a child. I think I still have all the cups and seals I "borrowed" from my parents when I moved away from home more than 15 years ago.

We all thank you so much for your comments, thoughts, and prayers. This has been a difficult week for our family but we know that there is a purpose in everything. We are unsure what the future will bring, but as the turnout at the wake and funeral mass show, Linda was loved by many in the community. It will take time for us to heal, but we know that time and God will take care of it all.

I am also Linda's daughter-in-law. While details of the accident are unclear and haven't been released at this time, this whole event was just that, an ACCIDENT. If these sorts of things were intentional, wouldn't we call them ON PURPOSES? While there are a lot of questions the family has, it doesn't change the fact that Linda is gone. She was taking a family dog to the vet, and despite the tragedy, the dog is fine and back at home.

Everyone can play blame game, but really, we just want to be able to move on. Why was she pulled over? Who knows? Everyone was just in the wrong place at the wrong time. Please, don't spend all your time placing blame and going through what ifs. Let our families heal.

It all depends on the media outlet and the context of the social media content. When I see "mainstream media" discussing social media platforms and applications I often cringe. Why? Because many times social media is misrepresented. Misinformation is dangerous and many mainstream media outlets don't know how to vet social media data.

I agree. I'm probably one of the worst offenders of talking while driving and have yet to switch to a hands-free solution. When I upgrade my phone in March I'll be sure to go Bluetooth or at least get a mic/speaker that doesn't require holding the phone. Even when I'm not using the phone I drive one-handed.

I've been talking and driving for many years without an accident. If traffic conditions require more attention than normal I know enough to put down the phone. I don't need legislation to tell me I can't talk while driving...how is talking on the phone different from talking with passengers?

I think the problem is that once you do get integrated, it's still a very small clique that you end up interacting with regularly. I've done searches for rooms and FOAF content to help me broaden my network but it hasn't been as easy as on Twitter. I like that FriendFeed isn't limited to 140 chars but still derive the most value from Twitter. I'm also interested to watch these services change in 2009.

iPod Touch/iPhone gaming will probably make headway in the U.S. market but doubtful it will impact Nintendo's strong overseas (esp. Japan) sales.

Personally, I love the DS and its backward compatibility with the Game Boy Advance cartridges. That said, I'd love it if the DS was truly wireless and didn't require cartridges for gameplay. If the games for iPod Touch are as good a play experience and inexpensive to acquire, I may just replace my DS in the future.

Mike, I think it all depends on what each person is using the service for. Some people may not be interested in quickly growing an audience or having a follower/following base that is reciprocal. Although I disagree with the unfollow notifications, it's because for me that serves no relevant purpose. I can imagine situations where an unfollow notice might be useful to a poster, but if people know that notifications will be sent both for subscribes and unsubscribes it might discourage a greater number of people from ever engaging in the conversation at all.

Ford is trying to get there with its Sync system. GM's OnStar needs to break out of the standard safety & security mode to really grow. Chrysler doesn't have anything to compete in the market.

Might be more opportunity with a dealer-installed PND than in-dash or other fully integrated device.

Reminds me of all the "content" loaded on my Gateway Vista laptop. I spent a lot of time removing everything.

I think the difference is whether or not that preloaded content subsidizes the cost of the device. I'd happily give up a little bit of my personal time for a lower out-of-pocket expense. In the Gateway scenario, I'm certain that content lowered the retail price of the laptop.

If the preloaded content cannot be removed from a device at all then I definitely wouldn't want it, no matter how low it brought the cost.
